Ater almost two years of silence, QUByte Interactive anounnced an update on the upcoming Breakers Collection. A closed beta for Breakers Collection will be coming to Steam in January 2022.
The game will be launched on a unspecified date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, XB1, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
QUByte Interactive also announced that Rage of the Dragons is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, XB1, and Nintendo Switch. No Steam version? That's odd, maybe they'll announce it later.
Rage of the Dragons was originally developed by Evoga Entertainment (character design) and Noise Factory (everything else). As of May 11 of last year, PIKO Interactive has acquired the game’s IP. This game is NOT an official Double Dragon game but rather a tribute.
So no, the Rage of the Dragons IP never belonged to Arc System Works. Rage of the Dragons is not an SNK game either. It never was. Just because the game was released on the Neo Geo doesn't mean that it was made by SNK. A common mistake. And while we are at it, Power Instinct 4: Matrimelee is not an SNK game either.
Yes, I've actually met people who tought this game was made by SNK or that the IP belonged to Arc System Works. Arc System Works owns the rights to the Double Dragon IP, not the Rage of the Dragons one. And yes, I've met people who thought that Power Instinct was from SNK (click here for more details).
EDIT: I forgot to mention that both Evoga Entertainment and Noise Factory went bankrupt. Just mentioning it for those who didn't knew.
