Listening to the Cosmos's Factory album from Credence Clearwater Revival right now. Amazing album, possibly the best released of 1970. So much good stuff one it. And, for those of you who didn't know, CCR was the first band to really prove you could be massively successful on the charts while staying on a small record label (a label known as Fantasy Records, it was completely independent until it was bought out by Columbia Records in 1974, after CCR had already broke up). That's right, all the hipsters listening to Indie music need to thank CCR for making indie "cool" and accessible to all...all the way back in the late 60s early 70s. One should also consider that they released 7 albums between 68-72 (6 of those between 68-70)... Three of those albums are listed in Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all time, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. Hope everyone has a little more respect for those guys now.
