Let's not blame Rare for things like these, Nintendo owns Donkey Kong rights, a spinoff franchise to Mario like with Yoshi, Wario and Captain Toad. Rare haven't even referenced Donkey Kong in their games on Microsoft System released games anyway.

I don't think it was done to only feature playable Kongs as Brawl (Which also only had Donkey and Diddy Kong as fighters.) featured the full song and the abridged version keeps Tiny Kong's segment.

Also, the point I was making above was that Rare's buyout probably wasn't why the song was changed.
The one thing that does puzzles me is cutting out the closing lyrics, but yeah, not sure why they'd still mention Tiny's portion, which may actually come handy in the future with Tiny's sister Dixie with a similar play style.
