The internet is going crazy over the impending third instalment of The Witcher.
I played the first game, thinking "hey, everyone praises this game to high heaven, what could go wrong?"
What I got was a very entertaining and visually beautiful game (with frankly unnecessary sex scenes for the fanservice). That lasted about 5 hours.
The more I played, the more I realised that I was just clicking. Clicky clicky click.
You want to talk to someone ? Click.
You want to pick up an object ? Click.
Fair enough, that seems to be the best option but :
You want to fight an enemy ? Click.
Wat.
Combat just consists of you clicking at the enemy as your character spins and dances when you click at the right moment.
That one single flaw put me off continuing the game, which is a real shame because I loved the rest of it. The visuals, the voice acting (in French it was great, don't know about the other languages), the skills, the places, the story-line.
I just couldn't warrant any more hours of my time clicking away at enemies.
What do you all think of the series ?
Is the second game also a click-fest, or should I give it a go ?
EDIT -
This is the best thing I remember from the game. Great score throughout what I played.
