Veterans' Day today
#1
Don't know what else to say really, but its a reminder to those in the US of what today is.

Formerly Armistice Day, after WW2, it was changed to a general thing, as people soon realized, WW1 would not be the final war.

Today, I have a thought to all those who lost their lives, and those who didn't, during the two great wars.
Special shout out to both my great-grandfathers who were in the French Resistance, and those who supported them.

Fun story, my granddad only found out who was the leader of my great-grandad's resistance cell 10 years ago. During the war, the least you knew, the better it was.
Though sometimes your lack of knowledge wasn't believed...

I never knew him, but one of the men in my family fought in world war 2 as an artilleryman.

Both of my Grandfathers fought in wars in the Navy. My one grandfather served during WWII, the other in the Korean war.
I never actually got to know either of them, but I was reminded of what I do know about them today.

Worth noting is that Mr. Buckles is no longer with us, as of February 27, 2011. So to say, he died at the age of 110. I just quickly googled that since I got curious about what happened to him after 2010.
