Donkey Kong Racing details revealed

Some of you may remember that Rare was working on a Donkey Kong game right after completing Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64. It was supposed to be a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing called Donkey Kong Racing. Due to the buyout of Rare from Microsoft, the game was scrapped from being completed. It was originally developed for the Nintendo gamecube(and would have been the second game for Rare on the gamecube if it got completed). Now we have full details about it that have just been recently revealed.

Thoughts? Just looking at this makes me a little saddened that this would have been a great racing game if Rare stayed with Nintendo.

Can't say the Donkey Kong racing interests me at all. Especially when Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing were the best racers out at the time. Diddy Kongs racing just seemed like the poor mans version of Mario Kart.

Maybe the links to the said images are dead? I think DKR took pointers from the magical quest racing game(since your cars changed on the locations you picked). I guess you didn't play Diddy Kong Racing BumbleBeeCody?
