Final Fantasy comes to an end for Sony
#16
Aren't they though? If FF XV doesn't do well they must then rely on FF XIV (the MMO) for revenue. Granted they Eidos which made Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. Sooooo I suppose it is a 50/50 spread on whether Square will be able to succeed in the future. Basically they need to get Kingdom Hearts 3 out, if not at least a release date in place even it is telling us which season it will be released at and what year, this year or next?

Oh, release dates are dangerous. If it comes to early, the game will too.

I hope Microsoft do take it considering they've been supporting Final Fantasy since the Xbox 360

That's not going to happen any time soon considering Nintendos relations to third party developers is near non-existent.

I know. My heads gonna explode. WSJ is mainly for those interested in stock/trading or business decisions it's not a gaming news website. Nowhere once in the entire article does it even come close to stating that either Sony or Square are even CLOSE to being screwed financially nor does it mean that Square won't develop for Sony for anymore. It just means they have no investment in the company and sold them to another party. In return they made $48 million. The article even posts what Square live share value is. It's doing well. As it should considering the sales of all of their previous games and been very good.

Dem real word statistics doe.

To be fair Sony has had some troubles lately, having to sell off their PC department and considering to outsource TVs.

But knowing them they'd somehow make them exclusives and I ain't gonna buy a damn Xbox just to play a game I like.

But I'd play a Wii U just to play Bayonetta. It's the same concept. Again though, irrelevant because both Sony and Square are doing well and no-company is being exclusive or selling stuff and stuff or stuff etc.
Sony do need slightly step themselves up though.

Sony is not doing well in anything but it's game department so I don't where you get that idea from. The whole point in selling it's square shares is because of how bad it's hurting. Sony is also supposed to be letting go of at least 1 to 2 thousand employees and dropping several other things they work on just to make ends meat.

A bit late on this particular bit of the convo, but wouldn't a FF7 remake just be made in the fashion of Advent Children?
