The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo

idk maybe I just suck with Nero and I've awoken my DMC3 skills with Dante or some shit and I'm getting B's and A's at the end of levels.
I'm really excited for Bayonetta 2; I'm thinking about actually paying full price for a game.

Or... I could wait and ask for that to be my Christmas present this year.

I'm still trying to figure out if I can afford a Ms. Pacman cocktail arcade machine for my mother.
I played a bit of Borderlands 2 on PC yesterday. I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than I did on PS3. I can't wait to get a chance to play it with my friends.
Bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl for £4 last week, very good game, very buggy though.

Looking for a few mods to make it widescreen and do up the graphics a bit, it can run perfectly with everything at max so I may try my luck to get it to look even better.

Maybe a few mods to change the look of some weapons, they look a bit shitty.

Great game though, if you want Fallout: Slav Edition, this is the one.

He is a very different character to Dante and I get why a lot of people aren't into him.

Oh man you know you want Bayonetta 2.

Yeah, but gameplay wise he seems to be better, but it feels like Dante is just superior to him in a lot of ways.

Like, Nero can pull enemies towards him, attack in the air consecutively and can do a lot more than Dante, but Dante just feels better to play as, I'm doing a lot better now that I play as Dante an I don't know why.

Yeah indeed and I agree. He has a more set play style than Dante. No change of weapons or styles. That being said his Red Queen Exceed tech is pretty interesting. Combine that with his Charge shot and Devil Trigger and you have some pretty interesting tools...but it's still set to his playstyle.
I actually thought the opposite, I had lots of fun playing with Nero perhaps because of the whole demon arm thing going on and the more unique possibility you had with it. I didn't like the weapons Dante obtained in DMC4 and ended up using the Rebillion for the whole time.
Playing as Dante with a Xbox360 controller felt kinda awkward to me. The dualshock d-pad is totally way more precise than the 360 d-pad (or maybe my hands are too small for the 360 controller) The only thing that I don't like about Dante in DMC4 is his Killer bee move. Back in DMC3 Beowulf's killer bee would go different angle based on how far the lock-on target is. But in DMC4 Gilgamesh killer bee is always 45 degrees. So yea, DMC3 all the way.

Yeah, I do this all the time with Dante

Seriously, that lunge move is OP and I use it whenever I can't be asked for a battle and it's basic enemies.

I guess I just sucked with Nero then.

Also, finally bought Bayo 2 today, and after a weird ordeal to get my card to be recognized I noticed that the site had sent me a confirmation E-Mail saying that my card had been accepted and that the game will be shipped to me.

It's weird cause I went through the normal procedure. Added Card Number, Name, Date of Expiry, and number on the back, and then I was sent to a password section where you had to add the first, second and fifth letter of your password so your bank accepts you.

What was weird was that I forgot it, and tried to change it. Upon doing that I found out that the password I was changing to was in fact the password I was using.

I backed out and got a "Order confirmed" page and it had a weird name as the address, most likely the error message you get when you do this. So, I went back and did it several more times, only for my card to be rejected by the bank by the final password. I then changed it to something different and tried again, but it didn't work.

I thought my E-mail might have something so I went back to it and I had a confirmation order for Bayo 2, going to this address that occurred around 10 minutes before I started doing my details again and again.

No idea what the hell went on there but I just hope it's alright.
I really don't feel like finishing Bravely Default now. I just got to "the climax" and let me just say that the result is rather disappointing.
It's an art to hit a high point in a game that is not the definitive end. Best game I've ever seen that made you want to keep playing after achieving what you thought the main goal was Phantasy Star VI. Without giving too much away, what appears to be the main villain is defeated a quarter of the way through the game, major characters die and yet the story continues on brilliantly.
Man, actually a bit pissed.

Died at that weird frog thing when it had a trickle of health left, and so did I. Really pissed me off cause I got S on time, an A on orbs, so I probably could've got a high grade for the level.

Then I continued and destroyed him in under 2 minutes.
I'm replaying Mass Effect 3 and any time I find myself playing this or any of the other ME games I find myself both loving the series and hating it. Love the story, characters and how everything unfolds and how choices made in one game affect how characters interact with you in the next.

I hate however some of the design choices made for this game. Giant load time between levels and now with 3 sometimes just entering another room through a door. Throw in that having auto save on while useful also slows things down just enough that I need to shut it off lest I become no longer immersed in what I'm doing even more so than I sometimes already do with the other little details that pile up.

So now unless I take the moment in a hectic situation to save, I end up going back like 10-20 minutes because something stupid killed me.

Still love it though and I'm curious where Bioware will take this series now that Shepard's story arc is done.
So... we got ourselves a new DidYouKnowGaming clone...

I know it's meant to be trolly, but I don't like it.
