Won't let me change Avatar to GIF

I've tried several times to change my avatar to a gif but the site won't do it. It will upload the top image but it won't move like a gif should.

What do I need to do to do this? I thought you just upload an image from your folder or just copy the url if the size is right but neither method is working.

Please help if anyone can.

My best guess is that your image is too large and the resizing process is making it a static image. Is the image you're trying to use larger than 150x150 or 250 KB?

I think so. Hard to narrow the search parameters off Google Image. They no longer have the side thing to more easily define and narrow what you want to search for.

If those are the parameters I need to be in I'll just keep searching and stick with what I got.

Okay, found the advanced search settings never mind. (having one of those days when the obvious is right in front of me and I ignore it)

You could go here and easily re-size it. That's what I did for my avatar.
