So, a couple of weeks back I put the majority of episodes of Twin Peaks on my phone to watch while I take the train to and from London to my university. The ride takes an hour or so which makes it the perfect time to watch it.
I decided that once I finish Twin Peaks I'd put another series on there and decided on Trigun. So I "obtained" the complete Trigun dub and put it on my phone, but for some reason it wouldn't play.
Naturally I assumed it was something to do with video formats, and checked that Trigun was a .mkv, so I went online to convert several of the videos to another format to play on my phone, although I didn't know which one to choose from I was going to make it .mp4 but just to make sure I went and checked what the file format of Twin Peaks was as it played on my phone perfectly.
Turned out Twin Peaks is a .mkv, which makes no sense as to why one set of .mkv files play while other don't.
I'm actually really pissed by this since converting 24 or so episodes to a playable file format could take a day or two and I don't get a lot of time when I come back from uni so I don't want to waste a lot of it converting files and slowing down computers while I do that.
I don't even know anymore, this is just stupid.

For my iPad, I just wang all my mkv files through Freemake Video Converter which, as far as I've seen, gives me perfect quality MP4.
You'd think something as powerful as modern-day tablets and phones would have a teeny-weeny codec in it to play most files, both video and audio.
MKV with XYZ audio ? Fine. MKV with ABC audio ? Nah. Unable to compute.

Actually, I googled it and people told me there were some free apps I could use on my phone, and I found one caled QQPlayer, it works very well and can recognise if there are subtitle files as well as multiple sound files (English, Japanese).
It's a bit fiddly to use, but it works quite well. Also it's Chinese and is translated in broken English so I'm hoping I haven't downloaded a virus while I'm at it.

For some reason my brother had the Grandstand theme on his computer, so I changed the sound of emptying the recycling bin to that.

Has anyone ever seen Gym of the Romantic Journey? I honestly don't expect to get a single yes, which is kind of It's an animated webseries about a bunch of kids being taught every cliche skill in games and anime, surprisingly succesfully. It's pretty fun.
There's also a tie-in webcomic. If you want to see more they're all here: http://www.dawnsomewhere.com/shows/gotrj-archive/

Stock market news websites are always such tat.
Half the articles are along the lines of "everything is going up and we'll all be super rich !" and the other half say "markets are going to crash, we're all going to be so poor."
Surely people realise that the experts disagree and that no one has the magic bullet ?

The only piece of stock advice you should give anyone is when Nintendo's stock goes down, you buy some of it because it will always go back up in a day or two.

I've had to hide from my nephew in my room today. I love my family, but sometimes you just need to distract them long enough to get a little time alone when you waiting for food to cook. Also din't help that he really wanted to watch Youtube and I was not in the mood to hear crying. Good thing a Game Boy is portable.
In other news, I can cook while in my room. It's called setting a timer and doing other steps when it goes off.

In the past couple of days, I've been mistaken for a college student many a time. Understand I'm fifteen. People say it's because of my height and that I "just look like a college student", whatever that means. People have offered me alcohol when I'm with my parents because they think I'm 20-something. I'm not sure if I should be offended or glad.
I should try my hand at getting into bars.

I know that feeling. I was in Middle School the first time someone mistook me for an adult. I wouldn't push your luck though. Its only a matter of time before people figure it out.

Just started watching X-Files while I work on stuff, and it's a pretty great show so far. Got to episode 7 and the website told me to disable adblock in order to watch it, which seems kinda hypocritical for a website that's illegally streaming a tv show from the 90's but whatever. So I disable both of my adblockers and whaddyaknow, two and a half minutes into the episode, the window closes itself and redirects me to two popups and a fake "YOU MUST UPDATE ADOBE READER" page.
And people wonder why anyone uses adblock :|
