I'm watching SuperJeenus's LP of the first game and I wonder how he figures out the game so fast (to the point that he figured out a peace of evidence before the game let him use it). I always thought I was dumb for not getting the puzzles.

Is it a blind LP?

If you want to try to be better at fighting games, Shoryuken.com released that yesterday:

You might want to read it at least a little, maybe there is a beast inside you waiting to destroy everyone!

There is no guide in the world that would enable me to have better finger reflexes or memorize combos.

Yea, it's blind, and he's doing a good job for only knowing very little.

The genre is always going to have that level of entry though.

Fortunately for me it's not fighters as I mainly play them but....visual novels(Mainly Phoenix Wright). I see forum posts about how people enjoyed the Phoenix Wright games but not many talk about being stuck. I'll be completely stumped in the investigation or court case which results in me save scumming my way through the game. I really enjoy the characters, dialogue, scenarios, cases, character interactions and everything else that makes the Phoenix Wright games so great but I'm so bad at the figuring stuff out.

There's one example that I still remember nearly two years on. I was stuck on the first game for around an hour. Only to find out I had to search for a piece of crumple paper under the table. The salt was high.

As someone who technically completed AA when he was 11 without a walk through, and then had a slippery slope where I had to use a walk through for JFA, T&T and AJ until finally playing them without one only a few months ago. I can relate to this, but only a very little bit.

There was only two times I was ever stuck on the first AA. Once in Case 4 where you had to present specific evidence, that you can't find unless you obtain another piece of specific evidence, I only got past that bit by luck. I did complete Case 4 though, I think it's the best in the series, as for Case 5. I was stuck on a stupid piece of testimony where you had to press the second point first, then the third point THEN you had to object. Even though I knew the evidence I had to show I couldn't do it and gave up.

As for JFA, T&T, and AJ. I could never complete a case after the first case (and even then I couldn't do it for T&T since I had no idea you could present profiles)for some really odd reason, so I had to use a walkthrough. Those were some dark days.

The only problems with Phoenix Wright is that when you are stuck, you're stuck. Even logical thinking won't get you out of the situation. I remember one testimony where you had to prove that they made a second crime scene to create a witness and another testimony where you had to prove the witness was in an incrimination piece of evidence so that THEY could incriminate the defendant.

These days though, it becomes pretty simple to do. AAI was the first game I didn't use a walk through for after AJ, then DD, PWvsPL and AAI2. I do save scum, but that's only when the solution is so retarded you'd never think it (which is around 10% of the time).

I mean in one of the AAI2 cases, there is an assassination attempt on a certain VIP. Edgeworth is called in to solve WHODUNIT and saw a "red dot" on the VIP's head in a photo. This becomes the center of debate for around 20 minutes, until he works out it was FROM A GUN. Which everyone with half a brain realised when they saw the picture. The games are becoming a lot simpler. I was only stuck once in Dual Destinies and that was with one testimony for around 10 minutes.

Next time guys, if you're stuck, just think. Read all the evidence and find the statement that is the most retarded to press and Object to. The amount of times I've been stumped, only to look at the Court Record and found out where he was lying are endless. If you're stuck in an investigation, present everything, search everything and just go everywhere. I remember I was stuck on a case for about 10 minutes, when you had to present a profile of a person to Gumshoe to get him to advance the plot.

But guys, the real question here is.

If you guys want a Phoenix Wright edit of this post, just say. I'm up for doing one.

Spanks. I'll keep all that in mind. I'll still end up getting stuck though :(
I plan on returning to the series though.
