It is a lot different but it's very simple. You can't "lose a life", only be picked up and brought back into play (in 2 player, I haven't played single player) something like the bubbles in Super Mario Bros. Wii. Also, you don't suck up enemies and take their powers like previous games. You have a string much like a whip and pull yarn enemies apart, swing from buttons and pull on stuff to reveal openings in fabric tunnels and such. I bought this game for only $5 at the local K-mart and it was well worth it. Like I said earlier, my 6 year old daughter plays it with me and she can do just as much as I can. It's a very family friendly game.

It got really hard at the end, I have no idea how I beat it as a kid. For me Marluxia was the hardest boss, it took me at least a dozen tries to beat him at the end and only I think by sheer luck and perseverance did I win. His one attack that can knock out all your cards was a pain, I spent too much time trying to dodge and collect my cards that he kept landing a blow on me. Getting Riku's side of the game was far easier. After I beat them both I just watched the cutscene library to see the story just because as fun as this game is, it isn't one for those who are not patient like me.

Repliku, Axel, and Larxene. at the end of the game. These guys were hard to beat when I was a kid (to the point that I never beat Axel). I lost the cart growing up and bought it again recently. I played though the whole game and they only took me a handful of times to beat. These are meant to be "that one boss" of the game right? That being said, I'm stuck on Marluxia. This is only half the game too, so I feel really pumped to move on to Reverse/Rebirth. I was talking about the GBA version (which I beat not to long ago) but the PS2 version (which is what I think you're talking about) has it's difficult times too. I've only done one complete playthough of RE:CoM but if I remember correctly, that is even easier. Marluxia is hard in the first form in each version, while his second form is not that hard (took me one or two trys on the GBA and I can't remember how many times for the PS2) and his 3rd form on the PS2 I remember taking some time. Also, Riku's story is boring. I would have beaten it faster if it wasn't for how tedious the game felt at that point and how big of a difficulty spike was with Repliku, the next to last boss. At lest with RE:CoM, Zexion was before that and tested your skills before Repliku so you were ready. It was a let down with Ansum as a final boss.

The Legend of Zelda:Skyward Sword. Man. Demise was one tough boss, but in the end. It was worth the time spend to see the great ending. If this was a movie, you can expect me to be one of the many people applauding at this.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate last Monday. The 3DS version, I prefer to have an actual copy of the game instead of a lump of bits on a hard drive and the HD version was digital only at the time I bought it. I'm not sure if there's a retail version of it even now.
And just now, like an hour or so ago, we beat ObsCure on co-op with my friend. Was a lot of fun, now I just need to hunt down the second game.

I know I've mentioned this several times (fun of speedrunning, I guess), but my old personal best at Hot Wheels Turbo Racing was 43:32 and I felt as if I couldn't get it much better.
I just got a 41:19.... I've run that close to 100 times now, and out of nowhere improved two minutes. This was about my reaction. Now, if my splitters ever get here, I'll actually be able to record it. Hopefully I'll smash that other time in the future on video.

I was too late to submit anything for SGDQ, but AGDQ will give me plenty of time to master a few of Nintendo 64 games as well (I really want to get an Earthworm Jim 3D run also. I mean, what else is better than a Banjo-Kazooie clone with mild cursing and decapitating enemies with meat cleavers that somehow still got an E rating?)(02-20-2014, 05:14 PM)CosmykTheDolfyn Wrote: I know I've mentioned this several times (fun of speedrunning, I guess), but my old personal best at Hot Wheels Turbo Racing was 43:32 and I felt as if I couldn't get it much better.

Beat BioShock: Infinite's 1999 mode without using a Dollar Bill machine.
Now I have to find the last 2 freakin' voxophones to platinum the game... And I already searched on guides for 4 hours...

Just played and beat Limbo for the first time.
I think people ruined it for me. The one truly scary thing about the game AKA the spider is the only thing people really told me about. Still all and all a really good puzzle game with only one achievement out of 12 to go. That being the no death run. |
