It's the NN3DS equivalent for 3DS XL. I have no idea why it now is double-L.

Then why wouldn't you name it 3DSXLL? Man, this is confusing.

XLL? Now that's even more confusing.

Yeah, I tried my best to be a tad bit funny. Although it probably wasn't.

Japan simply doesn't use XL when talking about something large. It will be called an XL once it's released worldwide. Anything referred to as XL outside of Japan, is referred to as LL inside of Japan. It's just how they use that term. It's no different than one country calling food french fries and another one calling them chips, accept that LL is actually closer to XL.

"Video Game Enhancer"

...yup, I still giggle every time I read that. (There goes my maturity)

Anyway, seeing as the New 3DS comes out next week I might as well post here.

Yes, I am getting it, and Majora's Mask 3D.
I would love to get it on launch day and I'm so close funds wise.
I'm gonna try and sell some stuff on eBay and hopefully I'll have enough before the 13th.

Anyone else getting (or already pre-ordered) the New 3DS? Or Majora's Mask 3D for that matter?

I preordered the Monster Hunter edition, I'm honestly just tired of having a black DS. All 3 of my DS devices have been black and the nice design of the MH version will be a welcome change.

I'm getting one but not as a pre-order, even though i might pick it up same day. The reason for this, is simply because, I can get am employee discount on the thing from my work, but even if I pre-order, there's no promise my pre-order won't get sold if I come to get it too late, and then they just return the money. It's not worth the risk and why would I buy it at gamestop or anywhere else at full price if I can just get it cheaper from work.

I would buy the Monster Hunter NN3DSXL (still a terrible name) just for the bigger screen and cool art but no such thing available in here. Only the Zelda special edition system. Sucks.

My N3DS arrived today. It looks super pretty, but I haven't even had a chance to do a system transfer yet. I don't what the problem is but after I updated the system, which is required before you can do a system transfer, it has been stuck on a loading screen saying it's "Preparing to start the HOME Menu..."

I don't know how long I can wait.

Had a high conversation with a friend that ended in laughs. (When typing in text it doesn't really make it sound as funny... but it has a point)

Hey so I just bought this new game called Majoras Mask on 3DS. I was going to get the New 3DS too but didn't
Is that the 2DS that's advertised on the box? (Also compatible with the Nintendo 2DS)
No it's the new3DS
So what's the 2DS?
It's the 3DS but not in 3D
So the Nintendo DS?
No that's the older system. It's a 3DS that's in 2D can but plays 3DS games and old DS games
Oh. So what's the new3DS?
A 3DS that's still in 3D but with more processing power, Amiibo compatibility, ZR buttons or some shit, a second stick and 3D from viewable from any angle.
So you can use 3DS games on the 2DS and new3DS?
Yep. But the 3DS has it's own library that the 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS can't play
So it's 3.5DS
Yeah.
So then why did they make all these 3DS games that say only compatible with the 2DS if they work on the new3DS and if the 3DS can't use new3DS games? Then the boxart is wrong and only relevant till the new3DS comes out. And what about in 10 years time when we're saying
"Hey do you remember the old new3DS"?

It's not new, but it's in the name.

Nintendo.

It sounds like customer support more than anything really. Like you're Mum/Dad ringing up GAME saying she bought Xenoblade Chronicles for her son's/daughter's 3DS and it doesn't work and the conversation above happens.

I just bought a 3DS XL with pre-installed New Super Mario Bros 2 (because my wife like to play Mario, so it pleases her), but wasn't able to get Majora's Mask yet. Once I get it, I'll be pretty much set. But, I'll be pissed if there will be new games that require the C stick.

There will be games exclusively available on the New 3DS. It's been the talk of the internet for months.

What's more is a lot of other games will run much smoother on the new 3DS. Monster Hunter, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Codename S.T.E.A.M. are three that are out'coming out that will work better on the new system. Xenoblade Chronicles is also coming out for it in April and the old 3DS won't be able to play games on it at all. It wouldn't surprise me either if E3 showcased several new games or remakes that only really work on the new 3DS.
