I'm not blaming Seth for anything either. Family Guy, and certainly American Dad still have a level of class. A lot of their humor is topical and is kept in mind for people with at least a certain level of education, and an understanding of their area around them. Frankly American Dad is one of my favorite cartoons on TV.

Mr. Pickles reminds me of Metalocalypse, more than it should. Death Metal intro, with a voice VERY similar to Brendan Smalls. The dog is named Pickles, like the drummer to Dethklok. Also, Metalocalypse is also violent in nature, but I happen to be a fan of that show as well, probably because I love death metal.

Rick and Morty is also on Adult Swim, and is also pretty edgy, but I think it's great as well. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are great writers, and I hope Rick and Morty stays on air for many seasons to come. It IS my favorite cartoon on TV. If you're a fan of the show, feel free to PM me if you're curious about the pilot. The pilot is so NSFW I can't post it here at all, haha.

I'd also like to point out that, although most of it is tasteless, you have to keep in mind what kind of audience you have. I'm in school to be a journalist, and frankly, I'd love to just sit and write about how cool comics and video games are. If there were a Newt magazine, it'd be the "Comic book and video games" magazine, and the only articles included would be about Moon Knight and League of Legends. Unfortunately, that's a terrible idea when it comes to making money. If you want to make money, you have to ask yourself, "What do the people want?" What's selling right now? What's "hip?" If edgy and gross are the two big things, even if you hate the idea of it, your job, to put food on the table for yourself and your family, is to make something edgy and gross, and do it so damned well, you don't get fired.

The creator of King Star King failed in his attempt to be edgy, gross, and good. He only found two of the three important pieces of his demographic. Rick and Morty is Edgy, but its fanbase grows literally every episode, and they were signed on to a second season before the first half of the season even ended. That's a promising sign, if I ever heard one.

Mass, I don't suppose you've heard of this trope from Tv Tropes have you? http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Ma...sSouthPark the quote above sums up how adult animation is usually done in America. Nobody takes it seriously.

"There's something that's called 'adult animation' and it usually means it appeals to adolescent, teenage boys and that's not really adult in my view."

The Tropes page even discusses what I'm talking about. You can be edgy, violent and use nothing but, essentially, toilet humor, and succeed, with a strong audience, making lots of money, and still find room to have a GOOD story.

Then, you get people who only see the edgy, and the gross and are like "That must be in. LETS MAKE IT SUPER EDGY AND SUPER GROSS" and they forget the most important part: Entertainment.

Rick and Morty is pretty cool too, though I've only seen one episode. It was the one with the Cronenberg mutants and dimension swapping, if you were wondering. I've also watched a Let's Play of the first episode of the Rick & Morty game, though I found the show to be way more amusing. The game seems pretty meh.

I also want to check out Metalocalypse some time, which would be sweet with me liking metal and all. The only show about a band (though a rap band) I've seen before is Da Möb.

In any case, I still find those shows to be way more tasteful than, say, Mr. Pickles. So uh, pretty much just what Newt said above.

Come to California. I will personally buy you a ticket to some show, just don't pick anything lame, haha.

Oh look, Mondo Media actually does something watchable for a change. I liked both of these. Crack-Duck is interesting since it has that weird and "edgy" look to it but lacks the usual excess amounts of gore and entrails. It actually got a second episode that had even less than the little amount seen in this. Don't Feed the Humans was just a funny show with an interesting idea that, too, got a second episode. Hopefully both of these keep going.
