Chris Seavor admits that he canceled Other Bad fur day

There has been belief that Microsoft pulled the plug on the development of the sequel to Conker's Bad fur day/live and reloaded entitled Other Bad Fur Day. But in actuality. Seavor himself pulled the plug. If you actually think about it. Its understandable why Seavor pulled the plug on his own game. I feel a little sorry for him. Your thoughts?

I'm in that middle spectrum where I want to punch him in the face YET I completely understand that he would want to plug his own game.

Still, WHY? What's the reason???

That my friend...is a good question. Although. I can safely assume that considering that during the development of Live and uncut/live and reloaded he was dealing with the never ending shit from Microsoft's behalf. The last thing he needed was his own game getting butchered again(since live and reloaded got more censorship than the original game did). Seavor seems very bitter about Conker these days.

Well, it still could be Microsoft's fault, we just don't know.

Microsoft changes games so fucking much to fit what they believe the fans would want. I've seen one of the Rare employees say that Banjo Threeie never occurred because Microsoft saw the first showing of the game, said "It's not going to be good" and then scrapped the whole idea and forced them to work with another group of people that were making some sort of vehicular game that lacked characters and charm and Nuts and Bolts was born from that.

If they gave the green light for a new conker game, and then gave stupid things that they wanted to see and made the game lose it's charm or not be Conker in the devs eyes he can probably wanted to cancel it.

This is just what I'd say, if some company told me to fuck up the main aspects of a game I'd make I'd try to disobey it or just cancel the game altogether if I can't and it's not going to be the game I envision.

Just imagine the gems we'd have if they were still with Nintendo. Nintendo let Rare do pretty much whatever the heck they wanted, and look at the amazing results they got.

I think people forget that Rare has made bad games before being sold to Microsoft. We did get Donkey Kong, Perfect Dark, and Banjo-Kazooie, but we also got A Nightmare on Elm Street, Super Glove Ball, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Plus, I liked Kameo (originally made for the GC), Perfect Dark Zero (better than Halo at times), and Grabbed by the Ghoulies (the first and possibly last time that Microsoft gave Rare the right to do what they wanted).

Most of their bad ones are super old, and all of the home runs they made make those very forgivable. All I can say is that I think it's accurate to assume they would've continued to make some very good titles if they had been left alone, which is something Microsoft doesn't do. It also doesn't help that they went to a very difference audience when they switched consoles.

Honestly, its one of those games that achieved Duke Nukem status where the community's there, but the expectations are too unrealistic. If that's right as I figure it is, then it only makes sense to bury it.

I admit, going to Microsoft pretty much killed Rare. Their last few games like Kameo and Viva Pinata were actually pretty good. It hasn't been all bad either. We've gotten HD versions of Banjo and 2 and Perfect Dark.
After that a lot of the main Rare Ware team left to go to different studios.

It's too much speculation to say or even blame Microsoft and/or Chris Seavor so I honestly can't say. But there's multiple reasons within development why this happens.
Maybe it wasn't up to Chris's standards?
Maybe it wasn't worth the time and money?
Maybe Microsoft did interfere.
Maybe the move to Microsoft disjointed the company?
People left?

So many reasons and more.
And Killer Instinct is hype as shit.
