I thought it would be fun if we had a weekly(ish) gaming question just for fun. Answer the poll question, then comment and let us know what you said and why. Feel free to post pictures, gifs, and video that relate to that weeks question as well.
If you have ideas for multiple choice questions, PM them to me with the title "weekly question idea" and I may use it! Feel free to send pictures or gifs that go along with your questions as well. Try to make your questions broad enough so fans of various games/systems/etc. will be able to participate.
Week 11
Do you take reviews and scores of games seriously?
[The idea for this question comes from gamemaster1991]

Week 5
[[[SORRY FOR THE DELAY. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY SICK.]]]
If a game is able to use mods or addons, do you like to use them?
[The idea for this question is from the bovine brainchild Psychospacecow]
I will now be putting my answers within the thread instead of right here on the main page.
Week 4
Downloaded copy or physical copy? If you have the choice, do you prefer the ease of downloading a game or the feeling of having a new game in your hands?
This one is easy for me- Physical copy. I love going to a store, looking first hand at my choices, or going there with a game in mind and finding it. I love picking it up, looking at the pictures, and reading the back. This also goes for music, movies and books for me as well. I like Netflix and all, but I love having a dvd collection. You never know what will be available online. With dvds, I can watch any of my favorites at anytime. Downloaded music is ruining the industry. It's too easy to just download "that hit song" by "that band" and never hear the rest of the album. And you will never, EVER catch my with a fucking Kindle. I'll take a real book that I can physically turn the pages over that crap any day. I know this makes me sound old (I am older than most of you) but I hate how we're so dependent on technology now. I understand we need it to play our games and watch our movies, but let us have our collections. It's getting harder to find physical copies of anything because of the ease of downloading.
Online is so easy and unsatisfying. There is nothing like the excitement of finding what you're looking for- game, book, movie, cd- at the store. I feel like the younger generations don't know that feeling because everything is already there for them and so easily obtainable.
[This weeks questions comes from the brain of CosmykTheDolfyn]
Last Weeks Results-
I skip the cut-scenes to get back to the fun stuff- 0
I enjoy the stories and lore- 13
I'll pay attention if it's my favorite game- 2
Week 3
Do you enjoy the story/lore of the game, or do you prefer to skip the cut-scenes and get back to the action?
For me, it depends on the game. I have always loved the Zelda stories, especially when it comes to the timeline. But then when I play WoW, I have no clue who anyone is or why they're so angry at each other. I don't even try to catch up on that story at all.
[this week's question comes to you courtesy of gamemaster1991]
Last week's results-
Pre-set controller- 13
Inverted controller- 3
Week 2
When playing on a console, do you use the pre-set controller settings or do you switch to inverted?
I always use the pre-set ones. They feel the best. Patrick always switches to inverted. It doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you want your character to look up when you press 'down', and look down when you press 'up'? No. I like to look up when I press 'up' and look down when I press 'down'.
Last week's results-
Do you keep in-game music on, or do you turn it off?
ON- 12
OFF- 0
Week 1
Do you listen to the in-game music, or do you turn it off?
My answer: ON. I feel like the music is a part of the experience. Plus, a lot of times it's really relaxing or nostalgic- Zelda, The Sims, WoW, and Banjo-Kazooie are some of my favorites.
See more of my favorites here!!

I do both. I like game music but there are times that the music gets on my nerves. I find that making your own music to go with the game can sometimes do a better job. I've yet to find a really good custom final boss music.

Depends on game. Noise is important in Battlefield. I couldn't really care all that much in say, xcom.

Music is such an essential part of video games for me. Hearing music from my favorite video games floods my brain with nostalgia and puts me into the atmosphere of the game even if I'm not playing it. So I always have music on when playing any video games.
I'll post some favorites later, because I'm using my Wii U right now and it doesn't work well with multiple tabs.

Get some Far Too Loud while playing Hearthstone, browsing net, and such and you will know how long a warrior's turn really is.

I always have it on, but if I want to do something that is long, boring and music isn't needed (so I could listen to my own) I'll turn it off. Such as in CoD's multiplayer.

Love the thread idea. Be sure to keep a list of the questions asked in chronological order so a few months down the line we don't look like a bunch of crazy people.
For me, it definitley depends on the game. If I'm trying to get immersed, then music all the way. If it's a competitive online vidja like TF2 or Smite, I need my mid-90's alt rock blasting to keep me in the zone.
The best exception to either of these is Skyrim. Guys, if you haven't tried this before and want some real cool immersion, plug in your headset, crank up the volume, turn off the in game music and walk around with only the cool sounds of the north. It really changes the feel of the entire game, plus it cuts out the same 4 god damn songs that play everywhere.

Only game I've ever played without music was Guitar Hero.

I play games on a spare TV out in the living room. To make sure I don't bother people with the game I put my head phones into the TV. Since I don't want to listen to the same music all the time, I put some music onto my computer and lesten to that. The expetions are really, really good music, new games, and games that have voices.
On a side note, am I the only one who had to turn the orignal Zelda's music off? It surprises me that the creator of the music listened to it on loop for hours, becuse it drove me crazy half way though the game. The same with Birth By Sleep and "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo." I can't stand that song any more.

Not going to say I'm surprised since I've met people who can do it better without the music, but can I ask why you do it.

Some of my favorite VG music.
And for something more recent.
If you haven't already I would highly suggest looking at GilvaSunners channel.

It's all dependent on what game I play.
For example: Payday 2 is a game where if I had music on it would be on the lowest setting to prevent it from overwhelming my teammates that use mics.
But for those single-player games I mainly keep the music on.

The music has to be on. The only exception is a game I've played so many times that I can play the music in my head. For games I haven't played that much, which is most of them, I need that music. It doesn't matter if I'm playing a game with orchestrated piece like in an RPG or Megaman. Music sets the tone and feeling for the game better than any visuals can.

Not going to say I'm surprised since I've met people who can do it better without the music, but can I ask why you do it. Essentially, I'm a hipster who hates half the soundtrack of most of the games, but I need a score on all the songs, so... Goodbye music!

I keep the music on but when I do turn it off, it actually feels WAY too calm, especially with those footstep noise.
