The Holy Grail of Gaming
#1
No, I don't have a specific item to show you. It's not that kind of thread. I would love to hear what is you guys' Holy Grail of gaming. What is that one gaming item (or items, go ham) that you would die to get your hands on?

For the longest time mine was a CiB copy of Sweet Home. Then I got one for a reasonable price. Second on my list was Resident Evil Gaiden for Game Boy Color but after some searching on eBay I came to the conclusion that that one's very much achievable and stopped thinking of it as the biggest gaming treasure I could have. Now, I could say Sweet Home for NES, since the one I have is the original Famicom release, but an unofficial repro cart isn't going to be that big of a deal either. Then I found it. Well, didn't really "find" it since to this day I have not seen a single copy of it and I fear that if I ever do it's gonna be way out of my price range. That game's Resident Evil Survivor for PC. That Chinese release that was completely remade with a different engine and never released anywhere else. Buggy as it may be it would totally be the cream of the crop in my Resident Evil collection. Speaking of, you may have noticed a certain theme with my list of choices.

In any case, what would your "Holy Grail" be and why?

I thought everyone just called Nintendo World Championship for the NES the Holy Grail of Gaming?

Well, whatever. When I eventually find a way to go back in time I'll just have to beat up the kid that gets it so I won't have to worry about spending money.

I have mine... maybe. I own the GBC port of Daikatana, which John Romero said he's only seen 1 copy of.
I really want a copy of Pier Solar and the Great Architects for the Sega Genesis though. And Snatcher for the Sega CD.

My Holy Grails would be (in this order):

The last one HAS to have the manual/guide.

For me, it would be to collect all the PS2 RPG's I don't already own. The most massive collection of RPG's in any gaming generation exists there and I don't think I even have half of them.

It's one of the resons I love the PS2. Most people think of the SNES or the GBA, but I think the PS2 has better RPGs.

An actual Polybius cabinet.

All that's really known about this thing is rumors of it inducing various mental ailments and "men-in-black" people collecting data from it.

If the latter is true, maybe they'll declassify it sometime soon.

I'm currently trying my best to obtain a Mortal Kombat 1, 2, Ultimate or 4 arcade cabinet because I always wanted one since I was a child. But yeah that's the one item I've been trying to get for years but with how much they are I gotta save up for them.
