The Order 1886
#1
I beat it already. Took me like, may 9 hours to do it at medium difficulty. That said, I don't think it's that bad a thing, because I want to play it again on a higher difficulty, and experience more of the atmosphere that the game offers because that part is excellent. While some can complain about the length of the game, or that it's a typical cover shooter, I don't agree. I think the game is fine, not perfect, but new IP's generally need a game to come out, and then another one to fix what was wrong. I have to admit the ending didn't sit well with me, because it's baiting for a sequel/dlc and I can do without that. Everything else about the game though, is pretty much fine with me. Reviewers have said that the best part of the game is fighting Lycan's, I don't agree with that. Also, I really want to see more of these characters in a sequel or dlc, with some extra things to do that the game doesn't let you. Is it going to be game of the year, no I would say not, but is it fun and do I want to play it again at a higher difficulty, absolutely. I wasn't intending to make this a short review of the game, but since I kind of did, I might as well score it. The Order 1886, gets 3.5 out of 5. A little extra content or a better ending would have made the game perfect, because the atmosphere of a game has hardly ever been better, and I'm not tired of the typical cover shooter. This is gears of war in the 1800's and that's fine by me.

So, did anyone else play this game? Any thoughts on it so far?

I'm glad to see even one honest review on the internet for once. The whole gaming world threw such a hissyfit with this game that hardly anyone has an opinion of their own on it, everyone just jumps in on the hate train. That said, I haven't played it myself nor have I ever really had the urge to but hey, it's nice that you liked it.

I'm honestly tired of most reviewers. They review a game based almost entirely on what they want from it and when it turns out different, like most games do, they tend to lean towards the negative side of things. Just playing a game without holding onto the expectations that others put in front of you, can make them a lot more enjoyable, and allow for a chance to come up with your own opinion, instead of everyone else's. That's what gaming used to be about, and I wish it would go back to that, because it's about time gamers started thinking for themselves again.
