Game designer Ron Gilbert, of Monkey Island fame, would like to do a new adventure for the series, however, Disney's in the way of that. But its not stopping him from showing that he cares for the series. I haven't played Telltale's take on Monkey Island, but from what I've read about it, its pretty good. He hopes that Disney would give him the approval for another game just in time for the 25th anniversary for the series. Since they allowed Double Fine to do the remake/remastered version of Grim Fandango and the upcoming Day of the tentacle. What do you guys think?

If I'm to be honest, even though I'm at the ripe age of the target point and click gamer, I never liked the genre. Watching the Monkey Island games be played is fine, but I doubt I'd play a new one if it came out.

I've always liked a good challenge in gaming. Thats what I enjoy point and click adventure games. They can be creative, and fun to enjoy. It would be nice to see a new 2D animated Monkey Island, like how Curse of Monkey Island looked, but I'm not holding my breathe since the last game was done in 3D. Disney should stop playing games(literally) to think that people aren't aware of the similarities between their pirates and Lucasart's Monkey Island series which they now own. If they gave the approval for a new Day of the tentacle, people would want to see Monkey island return. Last thing gamers need is for Disney to treat monkey island like they do with Howard the duck(own the rights, but do nothing to it since its 'too similar' to an IP they own already).
