Windows 10
#16
Not to defend this action but it seems to me that the method used to uninstall the built-in applications was a third-party program that likely did it in an unsupported way and caused Windows to "repair" the damage caused by this process. Generally, the only supported way to remove included programs is via the "Turn on or off Windows Features" option in the Add/Remove Programs menu. I haven't tried removing any of these in my brief time with Windows 10 though so I'm not sure if that option is actually offered.

Fixed this today. I had to completely uninstall the original drivers and it started to work for some reason.

Forgot to mention -- I updated to Windows 10 on both my laptop and PC, and so far I love it ! No issues as of yet :)
