General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread
New Episode of Phoenix Wright came out yesterday, featuring a new opening but a couple of things got to me.

Mainly the fact that Spoiler:Edgeworth is meant to be presumed Dead at this point in the story and showing him basically confirms that he is alive or will confuse the viewer since they will be wondering why he's being shown in such detail in the opening. As well as showing Franziska before she at least turns up in the anime on the prosecutor's bench, it sort of makes the cameo in the last episode for the fans of the games but lost to the fans of the anime kinda useless, since they can see who she is. It's kind of like the whole opening to the first part of Jojo, which ruins the whole thing if you look into it. and the fact that "Von Karma will be on the prosecutor's bench" a bit less threatening. Since you believed it was him for a second, and when you learn it's his kid. You're stunned waiting to find out who it is.

Overall, Pearls a cute, and I'm really looking forward to these last 12 episodes or so. Really hoping for a new season as well. For T&T and possibly Apollo Justice.

EDIT: Speaking of Jojo, here is a funny image I remember saving.

Man, after watching Akagi and learning to hate Mahjong, I went on to read Kaiji because Season 3 never, and it's about a 1 million yen Mahjong game that turns into a massive 160 million bet on a game of Mahjong.

It was still pretty cool to read, but damn. If Part 4 of Kaiji is about Mahjong again. *angrily shakes fist*

Also, random found this thread my daily browse.

It'll be a joke only Space Jockey and I will get, but a good one none the less.

Just an update on my seemingly never ending anime binge. Ended up finishing both Assassination Classroom and Sailor Moon Crystal S3 on the same day, watched the first season of My Hero Academia, marathoned Erased in two sittings, saw this and ended up watching the entirety of Koufuku Graffiti and watched the first few episodes of I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying because I saw a free promotion of it by Crunchyroll. It was boring as shit but at least the episodes weren't longer than 3 minutes each. Now I started watching the 2011 Iron Man anime and I'm already down to last three episodes.

Unrelated but kinda related, watched the first 8 episodes of the old Samurai Jack cartoon and by half accident ended up watching Zootopia, which was surprisingly enjoyable.

I was watching Digimon with my little brother. (Apparently, its on Netflix.) and they were raiding a hospital, looking for medicine because one of them was going to die from heat stroke. They gave her "aspirin" with the bottle saying element 22 on it. They gave this dying 6 year old Titanium pellets while trying to hide from T-Rex Megatron.

...I was catching up on some articles I'd missed when I saw that a certain very infamous manga that was once scheduled to be translated into English but then the publisher wisely backed the hell out just got more than funded on kickstarter.

The kickstarter page itself is fairly safe but, if you're not already familiar with this manga, just be aware it involves a very underage love story: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dig...escription

I'm only going to try and remember it will be up for order October of next year because I'm so curious about any drama it may cause. No way in heck Barnes & Noble or any other bookstores that sell fair amounts of manga will carry this if they catch wind of what it is.

Hunter x Hunter 2011 is a great show. Actually, Hunter x Hunter 2011 is a really great show. Everyone here should watch Hunter x Hunter 2011 if you haven't already, it's a pretty darn good show if I didn't mention that yet.

It's a bit lengthy and doesn't start off too strong but oooooh man does it get good after the first arc. The animation is fantastic, as expected from studio Madhouse. Everything is completely faithful to the manga, and the manga is great (created by the guy who did Yu Yu Hakusho). The voice work is pretty top notch (at least in the sub, haven't watched much of the ongoing english dubbed version) and some character voices only get better and better as the series progresses (mostly the main character). It's just a pretty darn good show that I'm sure people here have already watched but I really don't want to look through 70 pages to confirm that.

I'm sad it's over. It was my trusty cane to fall back on when other anime disappointed me and made me sad for having watched them. I always had the option to turn off the crap anime and head over to HxH for a high quality viewing experience that made me go "Holy whoa!"

If YOU want a high quality experience that makes you go "Holy whoa!" then I recommend one anime - Gurren Lagann!!! wait wait that wasn't right Hunter x Hunter is what I was gonna recommend not that other good show go watch that HxH show (if you haven't already! : > )

You can blame Togashi and his hiatuses.

BTW, if you liked HXH that much, then i recomend you to watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, it has a similar battle system and even one of Netero's abilyties was inspired by those seen in JoJo!

Yeeaaah Togashi takes more breaks than a kit kat. And thanks for the recommendation! I've had JoJo on my to-watch list for a while now but that definitely encourages me to watch it sooner than later.

I just finished catching up on D-gray Man: Hallow (I was two episodes behind, if anyone was going to ask). Seriously, this is one the of the best anime's we've had in a long time. My mind is blown. I haven't enjoyed an anime like this in years, so I'm really glad to see how good this one is becoming.

I actually thought the first Tekken movie was pretty good. I don't remember watching it with English dubs, though.
