I know that I'm a month late, but:

Baki: Son of Ogre is recieving an anime adaptation.

This is the fourth season of the Baki the Grappler anime series, as well as the third Baki series in the manga. Yes, I know it's not really accurate to call Netflix' Baki season 3 and season 4 considering the old Baki series was made by a different studio, but you get the idea.

Here are some anniversaries:

Happy 10th anniversary to Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt!

Happy 15th anniversary, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children!

Happy 20th anniversary to Hajime no Ippo season 1!

Happy 25th anniversary to the Virtua Fighter anime series!

Happy 50th anniversary, Lone Wolf and Cub!

Also, I finally got around and watched the full Dragon Ball series (as in the original series, not DBZ). Yeah, it was quite good.

Looks pretty good to me.

I am by no means an Anime/Manga Fan, it is a medium that I watch on occasion. The only time I have seen anime is what my brother and cousin has shown me(DragonBall, Overlord, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, KonoSuba, etc). So far, I can say that Anime isn't really my kind of thing. I can also say the same thing about manga, having been raised by Comic Books for a majority of my life. I know I sound like an uncultured swine because of how popular anime and japan culture is by the Internet but there is a point to this post.

So when this pandemic hit, I wanted to put my time and attention to a longform series that is unsurmountable to even catch up. It was ether going to be the Game of Thrones book series(I never watched the television series), or it was going to be an RPG series like Tales of or Final Fantasy. However there is a series that I always had an interest in but never thought I would watch/read the series because of how huge it is. It's the One Piece and boy did I choose right.

The series is one of the big three of Shonen Anime, the other two being Dragon Ball and Naruto. This is what I was told and I always had huge respect for a series to just continue and not rebrand itself like Dragon Ball. The series has always remained a singular title and I always wondered what the series was even about and why in god's name does it keep continuing in for so long. The only exposure I had with One Piece was that smiling buffon known as Monkey D. Luffy and the artstyle of One Piece.

I am glad and ecstatic to haved watched the anime because I basically fell in love with the world of One Piece. For one, it's a series about Pirates that have ravaged the world of One Piece in a time that is considered the"Golden Age of Piracy". First off, it's pretty surreal that the most popular japanese icon is a f-king Pirate. That is just so out of left field and it makes sense when you start understanding One Piece. The "romance" of freedom and adventure is the core value of this series and what way to express that than by having the main protagonist be a Pirate. Said Pirate is one Monkey D. Luffy.

Now Luffy is my kind of character because of how jovial and adventurous he is. The main objective is that Luffy wants to be the King of the Pirates and what better way to do that than to obtain the titular treasure known as the"One Piece". This is by no means an easy task and Luffy has to round up a gang of "nakamas" to start a Proper Pirate crew. What is so iconic about Luffy is his Strawhat and they are known as the Strawhat Pirates to the rest of the World. These "nakamas" are the crewmates of Luffy and the main characters of the series. The Strawhat Pirates must traverse through the treacherous sea and must enter the two parts of sea known as the Grand Line and the New World.

So far I have been summerizing but only because I REALLY, REALLY dont want to spoil any of the arcs. I just want more people to get into the series because of how good it is and this is my outlet. As much as I can say, my Favorite Strawhats is Luffy, Zoro, Franky, and Usopp. My favorite Arc is Impel Down, Thriller Bark and Dressrosa. My opinion on the latest arc(Wano-Kuni) is that it shaping to be pretty damn good and I have very high expectation. So much so, That I am even caught up with the manga. I have never been invested in an Anime that I would even partake in the manga that it was based on. Especially when I read both the Scanlation and official versions of the Manga. A MANGA THAT IS UP TO CHAPTER 999. Mad respect for Oda for being able to consistently put out great quality and I am in anticipation for Chapter 1000. I haven't felt this excited since the final episodes of Breaking Bad and to even be a part of of such an achievement as to making to Chapter 1000 feels pretty damn good.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Baki the Grappler TV series. Made by Group TAC.

Adapting the first story arcs of the manga, this series is also known as seasons 1 and 2 of Baki... even thought the Netflix Baki series was made by a different studio.

One day late, but happy 54th birthday to Takehiko Inoue! He's the mangaka behind Slam Dunk and Vagabond.

JOJO Part 6 Stone Ocean anime confirmed!! LET'S GO!

EDIT: The annoucement was made during the JOESTAR: The Inherited Soul Special Event. This Reddit thread provides a detailed account of what happened.

Speaking of JoJo, Koichi Hirose arrived on Naples March 29, thus starting the events of Vento Aureo. It's been exactly 20 years since the events of Vento Aureo started.

Writer Baku Yumemakura commented in this year's ninth issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine on Thursday that a "martial arts novel" of his will have an anime adaptation. Yes, I know I'm two months late.

Golgo 13 Manga Ties Guinness World Record for Most Volumes

Yesterday, on April 9, the last chapter of the Attack on Titan manga was published. The story is over.

Now we have to wait until part 2 of season 4 is released.

EDIT:

Macross Sequels and Films To Be Released Worldwide by Big West and Harmony Gold (After over two decades of disagreements, most of the Macross franchise will finally be released outside of Japan.)

Holy shit.... the impossible happened. I can't believe it.

For those who don't know, Macross = Robotech. Back in 1985, three different shows that had nothing to do with each other -Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA- were stitched togheter into the Anime version of Frankenstein's monster. That's how Robotech was created.

Yes, I did just call Robotech the Anime version of Frankenstein's monster. Because that's exactly what it is.
