I track via GPS how far I walk/run, and made a chart... Can you tell that Pokémon Go came out last week ?

Wanna know how to piss people off? Take over a gym yourself and defend it against 5 people who had it and are standing directly in front of you.
My wife got to hear some of their comments when they quit trying to win it back and walked away. The worst ones coming from the oldest adult there. Really???

You know I did that to someone yesterday. They took a gym right after I had beaten it so I took it back, and every time they beat, I had another pokemon ready to replace the one they just defeated. Eventually. because they figured out it was me since I was talking with someone else about Pokemon, they told me to fuck off and left. It was actually pretty funny.

On a side note, I caught Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee today without even having to leave my house. I booted up the game two separate times and they were just there.

This fucking game has my fat ass going outside, taking walks in nice parks on beautiful days, and meeting people with similar interests.

Sounds horrible. How do you manage it?

Back in Ottawa, 250+ people were meeting up every evening in Confederation Park. It's an amazing phenomenon !

So anyone done anything good recently? I have learned the challenge this came can create when you hit level 20 because it's been kicking my ass trying to get to the next level. Despite that, I just caught a wild Pinsir at 1150 the other day, which is my current best wild capture ever.

I'm currently in a small mountain village, so contrary to the city-centre waterfall of Pokémon I was used to, I've caught three in the past week and a bit.
On the other hand, the village gym is hilarious easy to beat. I've held it for a week, only having to take it back once from a CP200 Zubat. Not surprising if all the locals have to catch is a Pokémon here and there.
My current go-to is a CP1740 Dragonite. My girlfriend will be getting here in a week, and she has the same level Dragonite we both found at the same time.

I don't have data here, and I'm using local WiFi to connect to the gym in the village square, so maybe the locals get more Pokémon with cellular data.
I was in the high Alps last week and took over a gym in this tiny, tiny hamlet. It's been five days, and my Pokémon is still there, so I'm guessing there aren't many players.

So this new update removed tracking and iOS Eco-mode.
Everyone has set fire to their pants complaining about how Niantic is literally the fourth reich.

My guess is that they removed the buggy bits with a view to fixing them and rereleasing them fixed with a future update.
Now what leaves me perplexed is why they're not communicating this !
Even a little tweet along the lines of "We removed these features to make sure that they're working fine real soon," would have been enough ! Niantic really need to hire some communications people.
Or even just one who lets the gaming community know what they're up to. Without that, the scenarios, each worst than the last, just run rampant and people rightly assume the worst.

Another problem with the update is that it removed extra EXP for Nice, Great and Excellent throws, but instead you will randomly get 10 to 100 extra EXP when catching Pokemon. This is really odd considering that some people will end up losing EXP since they often got the extra EXP almost all the time for just being skilled at the game. It feels like they removed the EXP in order to remove motivation to throw the higher catch rate throws, thus prompting more wasted pokeballs and more money spent on the game. But again, it's hard to know because like SERIOUSLY THOUGH said, they haven't communicated anything to us.

There's also talk that catch rates are down even more than they used to be in order to again, prompt people to spend money on the game more often, but I honestly think my chances of catching Pokemon has increased as I haven't missed anything since nightfall, but before updating I failed to catch a CP 95 pidgey after throwing 5 pokeballs at it before it ran. I think that last part is just people trying to get everyone to freak out as much as possible, like with all the fake stories related to Pokemon Go that started cropping up when people wanted to make it look bad.

Great piece in my local newspaper back in Ottawa. Really showed me the light and convinced me to stop playing because my time is better-spent fighting daesh and shovelling snow for the elderly in mid-August.

My only guess on how this ever happened was that the writer had a bad experience with Go, or is cashing in on the hype to get a reaction, and this is the result. What an idiot.

I caught a wild Charizard. Not only does that allow me to finish that line, but this one's CP was high enough that I can just use whatever Charmander Candy I choose and level it up and be fine to use it for gyms. With this capture, I have now caught a wild Dragonite, Chansey, Aerodactyl and Charizard, which are said to be four of the hardest wild capture's in the game, at least for Pokemon currently available. At this rate, even though I've never had a 10K egg, I may never need one.
