That One Boss/Level
#1
I was looking a TVtropes, and they had a category for really hard bosses and levels. The ones were you start playing and you start saying, "Oh man, (insert name) is coming up. I really don't want to play that part." That got me thinking, "What are the Parts in games you really don't look forward to in a game?"

I guess I will start. I love Sly Cooper. I will play it for the rest of my life if I can. I live how the bosses are so colorful and different from each other. However, when I get to "Vicious Voodoo" (the 3rd level), I always say to myself, "This is Mz. Ruby's boss fight. Why is she next?" You don't fight her, but her "fight" is a rhythm game (simpler to Parappa the Rapper). I almost never get past her on the first try. I have only got a perfect on the boss fight twice. I never look forward to the boss when I go on a Sly Cooper Marathon.

I want to see what you guys have to say.

I guess facing off with Nemesis or Pyramid Head. I mean, I love those guys, but I really don't want to be fighting them after losing almost all my health in previous battles.

Since I've gone through a few PS3's and corrupted my profile once on LBPV, the bosses in the Little Big Planet games can be daunting when I know they're coming up... some of the levels, too, like Bunker.

The levels and bosses aren't hard to just beat, but when I'm trying to recollect 100% every prize in the game and I've got to play it perfectly without dying once to Ace it... it gets nerve wracking sometimes. I've done them before, so there's muscle memory involved and I know what to expect, but it still makes me sit up straight and pay attention.

...and omfg don't get me started on trying to get 4 people together for the 4x's, especially in LBP1. Friends, even if they're on, are way over doing those again... and trying to get strangers who may randomly join to wait for a full party that will stay and survive for the whole level is a miracle. The absolute worst is the 4x on the moving cars/trucks level of the Marvel DLC for LBP1/2. I did that twice, and since getting my PS3 back in November, I gave up on ever seeing 100% for that level again.

I'd compare it to trying for S ranking and yellow crystals on the Beastector bosses in Mischief Makers... but that never really felt like a trial I had to do.

Oh, oh, oh, OH! I got something that I actually HATE in a game I otherwise LOVE.

In Resident Evil Dead Aim there's a boss called Pluto. That goddamn fat bastard is propably my most hated boss battle ever. He's faster than you, reacts to every single little movement you do, is a bullet sponge and makes this weird, annoying gurgling/chuckling sound throughout the whole friggin' battle. It was so satisfying when I managed to glitch him in a corner where he couldn't move and just shot everything I had at him. Literally, everything. I don't think I had any ammo left after he died. He is the sole reason why I haven't played the game again and otherwise I LOVED the game. One of my favorites in the series.

I was so pissed when they pretty much replicated this asshat in RE6 as the Lepotitsa, also known as the booby monster. Not only you have to fight him/her/it once but twice. Annoying childish voice, is a bullet sponge and has an insta-kill move it uses whenever you are close by. That sick sack of fat literally lactates you to death with its blueish milk-ooze. Not even kidding.

Moldorm in ALTTP.
Gets me every time for some reason, and he's not even that hard. It's just one of those bosses I can not beat.

Usually last bosses in RPG's.

Lavos in Chrono Trigger comes to mind, can never defeat it because of its regenerating ability.

I know what you are talking about. He just keeps knocking you off the platform and restarting the boss each and every time.

I like Lavos. I just can't defeat him at the start of the game on New Game+.

That last level in Super Meat Boy. Not the boss battle, the level before that... I still haven't beaten it to this day. I understand it has to be hard, but it's just so long that I my hands start hurting before I can complete it.

The final boss of Final Fantasy V is one I really dread, too. I just have so much trouble with him. xp

Is it because the regenerating ends up killing you quick, or do you not know how to stop the regeneration?

Resident Evil 3's Nemesis. The first time I found him (at RCPD) I thought: Oh, well! The first boss is here! I guess it won't be that hard...

2 seconds later he grabes me and with it's 'hand tentacle' one-shot kills me......

Most RPG's last boss are the most difficult because i somewhat haven't brought my character to a decent level or just haven't made a strategy.

I agree. I try to stay at a curtain level for a boss and form a strategy for him/her. But you can only guess what level is right and it takes a wile to find a strategy that works. Some times it's just best to go all out out at out time.
