Upcoming games for 2017
#1
I don't think we've done a thread like this, at least not since I joined, but I kinda wanted to ask, because a lot of interesting games are coming between now and at least April. We don't really have a lot of confirmed dates past April thus far anyways.

The games I'm most excited about are:

Dragon Quest 8 for the 3DS
Tales of Berseria for PS4
Resident Evil 7 for PS4, Xbox One and PC
Gravity Rush 2 for PS4
Double Dragon IV for PS4 and PC
Ys Origin for PS4 and PS Vita
Horizon Zero Dawn for PS4
Nier: Automata for PS4
Persona 5 for PS4
Yooka-Laylee for PS4, Xbox One and PC
Dragon Quest Hero's II for PS4

It's also worth mentioning that Japan will be getting another Attack on Titan game in March called Shingeki no Kyojin or as translated: Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death. No idea what the gameplay is like yet, but the last AoT 3DS game was, interesting. Not great, but interesting, and this one is going to have an original story, Ala recent Digimon games and DBZ games, though the only trailer I found doesn't really show any gameplay and it has no subtitles. If someone wants to look it up, they might find something I missed.

That's really all from me, but there's far more than just these 11 games coming in the next 4 months. What'd I miss that your excited about? Or for that matter, is this list about it for you, or did you learn about a game or two you didn't know about. Let's talk about what's ahead for gaming, because I feel like there's a lot to look forward to, and I really only mentioned games with confirmed release dates, so here's hoping these all go gold.

Cuphead is due to come out sometime in the middle of this year.

I'm expecting Forgotten Memories: Alterante Realities' Director's Cut, which is bound to be released some time this year. It's a very Silent Hill looking game that was originally released on mobile devices but they have been making this PC edition for almost a year now so I hope the remaster is a good one.

Firday the 13th: The Game should also be coming out some time this year.

I didn't add it when I made this thread, because I wanted to stick to games with release dates, but Mass Effect Andromeda just got a release date of March 31st from CES today, so I guess that can be added to the list. Not that I plan to get it unless everyone says it's one of the best games in the series, because I was never the biggest fan of it, but if it's great, it's something to look forward to.

I have plans to get the Switch when it releases, but I may find myself saving up to get a PS4 also.
Although I have not played any Resident Evil games after RE3, RE7 has caught my attention. I also want to play Double Dragon 4.

Holy shit, that's a thing? AND it's made by Arc? I need this in my life. I also need to now go and replay 1-3 before it comes out in... JANUARY 30TH?! Shit, I need to be fast on this one. Expect a bunch of Double Dragon streams soon.

I also want to know what Square is going to do for 30 years of Final Fantasy, because so far all we have is a remake of FF7, a Remaster of FF12 and a rumor speculating that FFX-3 is a thing, and with how weird that story has gotten, my dislike of 12 and not being a huge fan of episodic content, I'm really not that excited for anything yet. I want to hear that the new Dissdia title which has been on arcade since it was released is coming to PS4 and Xbox One and that Noct is going to be a playable character along with someone else that we wouldn't expect who isn't currently on the roster. I want to hear news of something older FF game being remade or re-released on current gen with trophy or achievement support. That game could either be FF6 of FF9 and that would make me happy. Either way, I want the year for Final Fantasy's 30th anniversary to be memorable, because right now, it's at best got as much going for it as Dragon Quest did for it's 30th last year, which seems all the less impressive when you consider at least as many games are coming for the series this year and there never really was a world-wide marketing campaign for Dragon Quest, unlike Final Fantasy, which will get one, whether Square likes it or not.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I know someone who works at Square. I wonder if I should ask them if there's anything they can tell me that we don't already know about. That might get them in trouble though. I don't know, just thinking out loud I guess, but I really wanna know because I've been so bored lately.

Yeah, it's a thing. From what I've read, it takes place after DD2 and it's gonna cost ~ $7 USD. There is also a teaser trailer for it. Old school Double Dragon looks like it is making a comeback with smoother gameplay and graphics.
