The Chit-Chat Thread v3: Electric Potpourri
So, I bought a box of those bean boozled jelly beans. After about 20 beans, I'm either extremely lucky or my taste buds are broke. Such a let down. I thought it was supposed to be so gross it would make me vomit.

Reminds me of the Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans they commercialised early 2000s.
Young me was so excited at the prospect. The most bonkers flavour was horse-radish.
Young me didn't understand the concept of food salubrity :(

Found a cool app that lets me cycle through tons of PC-98 images and use them as my phone wallpaper every 30 mins. Here's some Yu-no.

Here's what its on now.

My house didn't have internet for a week, so I've haven't been around since then.

Just popping in to say I'm not dead or anything.

So yesterday, I was abruptly woken up by loud construction work at 9:15 in the morning. Fair enough, people should be up but man, was I tired I had only gotten 4 hours of sleep at that point, but oddly I felt kind of awake, I debated staying up but felt 4 hours wasn't enough time to sleep. The construction work didn't stop until 5pm, so while I fighting to get some sleep I just gave in and woke up at 2pm.

Had a shower, ate some food, went off to uni to host the anime pub quiz with my friends and then got home by 11pm. I had a 9am lecture the next day so I had to go to bed by 12am to get just enough sleep. Unfortunetly I stayed up until 1am, due to accidentally watching an episode and a half of Akagi downstairs with my friends, and then reading a book afterwards.

I couldn't sleep, no matter how much I tossed and turned, 40 minutes I laid there unable to sleep until I just said fuck it, and tried to read the book to get to sleep. One fucking chapter later (around 30-40 pages) I was still not tired. I got up and decided to go online, and noticed a Steam friend was having some troubles with her life and I chimed in for an hour and a half and comforted her on the problems she was having. Soon enough it was 4am and I had to get up at 8am.

I set my alarm, and gambled on 4 hours of sleep and man, what a fucking good gamble.

I woke up today kind of tired, but also in a weird alert state. Sort of like when you stay awake over 24 hours and your body thinks it's in danger or something so it tries to keep you awake even if you want to sleep. It felt good. I went to my lecture at 9am, and did some extra work until 2pm and then I went home and have been on my computer since.

For the past two weeks I've been getting 8+ hours of sleep and I've woken up tired every damn day, and then today I get 4 hours of sleep and wake up somewhat refreshed and ready. What the actual fug.

...Nobody really posts around here anymore, huh?

Eh, I reckon we're all just getting older, have stuff to do, and live chat seems to be the way to go. Discord gets rather busy at times.

A number of us spend a lot of time on Discord chatting IRL-IRT. Jooooooin us !
But it’s true, we spend most of our time posting about specific subjects now, rather than on the catch-all chit-chat thread.

But thanks for the invitation anyway.

So real talk. If you're into Japanese merchandise, I strongly suggest never ordering from outside of Japan unless the item is in stock. A lot of US shops want some money upfront for a pre-order and, with how long it takes to get in the merchandise, it can sometimes be past the amount of time you have to file a PayPal dispute.

Anime Island went belly up. It's kind of scary because I did use them in the past for some exclusives nowhere else had. Their site and Facebook are completely gone. Once they ran out of money the refunds stopped and now people are fighting to get their money back over a month later.

It is a HUGE mess.

In a similar manner, I just spent £150 on a Mahjong set and mat due to import charges being place on both for no real reason.

Really annoyed me, since originally it was going to be around £110, which is reasonable, and my friend paid around £100 for his set two years ago.

I'll be using the set for years to come, but it's just an annoying hassle to have to deal with.
