My schedule is made two weeks in advance at work. I'd really like to attend, so is there any way we could try and get a date set earlier so I have a chance at trying to ask off?

No. It was a joke in response to all of the "offensive" junk that is over-portrayed by the media, i.e. feminists, BLM, LGBT, millenials vs generation X, etc.

The media makes it worse than it is, but this nation is much more divided than it has been in 4 or 5 decades.
