Did you know that the alphabet song is just "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with different lyrics?

I noticed that too. I knew that there was a reason why it sounded familiar.

Any type of gem, crystal, material, ECT that is hard to find, obtain, or find that serves some sort of plot point in a piece of fiction or a thought experiment is dubbed unobtainium.
So no. James Cameron did not make up a stupid name for the hard to get rocks in Avatar. However, a good writer would know NOT to use the ad-lib word in the final script.

Apparently, if you fake a surrender to an enemy during a war, it is a war crime, as well as controlling the weather during a war.

I always find it incredible how, in something as vile as war, there are still rules to which most abide. Deep down, within that hate and resentment, there is still some semblance of honour. That and the UN would not be happy.

I don't know. If I'll be completely honest, I find the idea of laws in war to be kind of overly optimistic.

Today is Jim Henson's birthday. He would have been 78.

Nintendo turned 120 years yesterday. That's over a century. A CENTURY.
Thanks for the memories, Big N. Hope you make it to 150.

The song "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band) by The Moody Blues was written by sometimes lead singer and full time bassist John Lodge. He was annoyed that people were always coming to him asking him about questions about political problems. At the time, he noticed that many people thought singers knew a lot about politics and should take an active role in them (see for example how politically active Bob Dylan was). He felt he had NO answers to any such problems and just knew how to make music. On top of that, the band had recently heard that some of their fans were turning to their music for "spiritual enlightenment". Annoyed by all of this, he penned "I'm Just a Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band)" as a way of saying "HEY! QUIT ASKING ME QUESTIONS, BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS!!!"
