It is interesting, looking into the development process for things. I remember looking into that with Spore too, and how there was a divide in the team about the original intention for the game and the more social version we ended up getting.

Since I'm in a Disney mood. I'll post another interesting trivia on Disney. Did you know. At one point Disney was making an animated movie called Aida. Production of the movie began while Disney was finishing up The Lion King. Disney was about to go into pre-production on the movie, but the last thing they needed to make this movie a full go was to have Elton John doing the soundtrack for the movie. Elton didn't have any interest in doing the music for the movie, Disney later scrapped this from being an animated movie and made it into a boardway musical. Here's a character line-up from the purposed movie

Did you know that the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seires had an entire season lost for years? During the production of the 5th season, the team was working on a 13 episode arc called the Ninja Tribunal arc. 4kids (best show idea workers since the guys who canceled Firefly) wanted to increase interest in the series and bumped Fast Forward to the 5th season spot. After the scheduling change was made, Mirage and its partners decided to finish the shelved season to release on DVD as "The Lost Episodes." 4Kids later made an agreement with Comcast in 2006 to show the lost episodes on demand, but Comcast only aired the first 5. 4Kids even canceled the release of the Lost Episodes DVD. They later aired the season in Feb 2008 and released the DVD on May 2008.

Even though the season was relesed to the public, one episode (Nightmares Recycled) was never finished. It was to be the last appearance of the Garbageman and would have Hun battle him, reviling that they were conjoined twins that were surgically separated by a back-alley surgeon with the Garbageman being discarded as 'garbage.' The episode was seen as really dark and controversial for a children's show and was shelved in the early stages of production.

The character Flapjack from the cartoon "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" (which is awesome BTW) was originally going to be voiced by Paul Rubens (aka Peewee Herman). Rubens failed to show up for rehersal so the show's creator Thurop Van Orman temporally filed in for him. Thurop since has became the voice of his own character and has voiced him in every appearance except for the 3DS version of Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion.

There was also a Flapjack video game set to release for the Nintendo DS, but was cancelled along with the show itself in 2010.
