NEW ZELDA!!

Anyway, the game itself looks sweet. I'm pretty excited it's in that top-down view, as opposed to another 3D (as in full 3D movement) adventure. I like the 3D games, but something more like the older games is nice, too, especially since even the portable entries strayed from that style with the DS entries.

Can't wait to play it! :D

The game itself looks amazing so far. I hope they don't make it too cartoony though.

I don't despise handhelds, I would just prefer not to play them. I can't even have the 3D feature on on the 3DS because (1) it gives me a headache and (2) if you turn the screen/your head in the slightest it screws up the view.

But, as per usual, it is Zelda (not to mention ALTTP 2!) so naturally I will purchase it. Doesn't mean I won't go down swinging.

I'm hoping it won't be the same world, but judging by the videos of the overworld I've seen, and the fact that I started replaying aLttP literally the day before this was announced I can confirm that I've seen some of the same areas.

I'm too lazy to get screenshots but if you love aLttP as much as I did you'll probably recognize this as I point them out:

0:28: Lumberjack's house next to the lost Woods
1:19: Near the entrance to Death Mountain--just south of the last overworld bit

Hopefully this only means that the world will be added to around the Lost Woods area, and this portion of the map was only included to help the feeling that it's the same world. As much as I love aLttP, I would hate to have another game set right there because what else is there to do? Aghanim was cast down in the Dark World, Gannon was killed, and the Sacred Realm restored. I haven't finished the game in a while but didn't the seven maidens seal off the Sacred Realm again?

While I'm really glad that the 3DS is getting some really good games as of late, I wish the WiiU had some support as they could use some games. Plus, I somewhat share the same sentiment with Cuccos as I'd prefer to play it on the big screen.

Humbug, oh well. It's a sequel to one of the best Zelda games, so I shouldn't have much to complain about~

The Wii U will get its support. It's just going to be a little while. I'm pretty sure the reason why Nintendo decided to do their Nintendo Direct, at least this one that mainly focused on the 3DS, was that when E3 rolls around, they can spend more time talking about the Wii U games.

With games like Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and some others, I can see that as well.

Last I heard they were still working on a brand new Zelda game for the Wii U. Supposedly, the first dungeon is so huge, it's bigger than all of Hyrule Field in OoT. So if all of that is true, it will take a long time to make. Last year I heard they were shooting for 2014.

I still haven't tried a Wii U. I hope its controls are better than the Wii.

A dungeon bigger then ALL of Hyrule Field? Holy Dang... Now, I havent played OoT in a bit, but I remember it being pretty big even with Epona. A dungeon the size of that, I Would love to see that. Heck, I would love to see any of the other dungeons.

I like the aesthetic style. It kind of reminds me SGI from the Rare-era, or 1995 Sega Saturn games like Shining Wisdom but way better:

I really love the verticality of dungeons as a focus, since the tower in the dark world was one of my favorite and most memorable dungeons in A Link to the Past...but the wall-walking took me a minute to accept as an interesting feature. It reminded me of this pretty mediocre platformer called Sidewayz:

...and it was kind of disheartening to see Nintendo coming with something that seems a little uninspired or desperate for newness. I would love it if, instead, you could just walk on the walls and ceilings in the normal perspective and everything would rotate with you like a rubix cube of spatial reasoning puzzles from room to room. The dungeons would be on some seriously mindbending, Zelda Galaxy stuff.

Oh god I hope this isn't true. Big dungeons are fun and all, but if the first dungeon is just monstrously huge then I could see some of the later on dungeons getting old.

It better be true! If I have to put up with another Zelda on the 3DS, then I better get a gigantic fucking big screen game. My favorite part of playing Zelda is exploring every little nook and cranny. There's always amazing stuff to find. Imagine if it's true and we do get a game that huge! That would be incredible.

I meant more about the first dungeon being bigger than Hyrule Field. They say a dungeon crawl is the best crawl of all, but I like exploring the world, not the dungeons.

(Well I like exploring the dungeons but there just comes a point where it's too big and I just want to get to the next bit of story)
