Kirby is getting a 3D platformer game (finally), some Bayonetta 3 news (finally!), Chocobo racing is getting a sequel in the form fo Chocobo GP. Nintendo Switch Online is getting a new membership plan in October that will allow members to play Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games like Super Mario 64 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2 is already out on the Switch. Disco Elysium The Final Cut. And more!

Overall, I'll say it was a good Direct.

Here's the cast for the upcoming animated Mario movie. Coming on December 2022.

  • Luigi - Charlie Day
  • Bowser - Jack Black
  • Toad - Keegan-Michael Key
  • Donkey Kong - Seth Rogen
  • Kamek - Kevin Michael Richardson
  • Cranky Kong - Fred Armisen
  • Spike - Sebastian Maniscalco
  • Many cameos from Charles Martinet

Yet another case of putting big name actors instead of talented voice actors in order to sell tickets. It's nothing new, mind you. But still.

I'm sure it would be cheaper to just use the iconic voice cast of the games instead of hiring all these actors, but oh well. Let's hope these guys do a good job.

Really pumped for Bayonetta 3. Absolutely enamored with her design and the gameplay looks really promising. The Astral Chain copout weirded me out because I haven't actually played it and didn't know it was referencing Astral Chain(it's in my backlog). This was the only thing that I am genuinely excited about besides Metroid Dread.
