Releases of Mario & Sonic Games

*Upon hearing what was to've been said when I asked about, I thought I'd do a submission on this about a Currently Announced game that we can expect sometime, I'll update the information once it actually is announced. My apologies to say about how my patience has been about waiting for the Next M&S Game's announcement, of which it funnily enough hasn't been already, but it's a game I'm tempted to have a submission for sometime.

Anyway, as you can see here, each game in the Mario & Sonic series has released before the Olympics that they're based off took place. This Trivia Evidence piece is a work in Process as I don't where other than wikis can display a game's release date.

Anyway, the first 5 released before the Olympics that they're based off, but this Next M&S Game at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics whenever we can expect it would release after the game's themselves have taken place. Again, I'll put in more info about this once announcement is actually made on the Next M&S Game, but I'm being an early bird with posting a submission about such, hope noone minds.

Wasn't announced today in this Direct, so perhaps let's say at SWSX next week. If it is announced I'll update this Trivia Evidence, if it's not I'll rephrase this Trivia Evidence into something else for another game.

SXSW has come and gone, but no announcement, so I won't be posting of this. Thought they were covering every Olympic Games since Beijing 2008 for the Mario & Sonic Franchise.

They actually can't make a game based on the 2018 Winter Olympics. Ubisoft bought the game rights already for an Olympic-themed update to their snowboarding game Steep.

IIRC they do have the rights to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

For anyone wondering how Overwatch got away with their Summer Olympics themed update back in 2016, they cleverly never actually said "Olympics". They only used the phrase "The Summer Games", which meant they could bypass getting the rights.

Sorta like saying "The Big Game" instead of "The Super Bowl".
