Fortnite PS4 vs Switch
#1
Okay, we've probably all heard that Fortnite players on PS4 cannot play with players on Switch because Sony will not allow the cross platform play with Nintendo (correct me if i'm wrong and I'll fix it).

Still salty over that deal that fell apartin the 80s?

A new problem has risen and Sony seems to be catching the blame because someone knew this was going to happen and no one told us; apparently Switch players cannot login with their Epic Games account if it's been linked to the PS4.

That sucks. It's not surprising as Sony is quite adamant about preventing cross-platform play.

Either way, the Switch players will just make due with XBone fanbase for the time being.

Unfortunately. Does that mean we cannot play with players on PC and mobile?

EDIT: I think we can. I logged into my Epic account and it shows SERIOUSLY THOUGH on it but he's offline.

EDIT 2: I just saw where the lobby screen says "fill with: same platform play against: same platform".
I've tried to find where I can change that but have not found it, if possible

IIRC Sony don't do cross-play because they don't really have a need to.

They're well in the lead in terms of sales, and companies only do this kind of stuff to get ahead in some way or another. Imagine your friend has a PS4 and Fortnite and you want to play with him, but you also want a Switch because it interests you more in terms of games or whatever. In a world of PS4/Switch cross-play, you'd buy the Switch because you can now play your game with your friend AND buy the games you want, whereas in this world you have a hard choice and need to choose between them.

It's a bad example, but I'm sure this is what goes through people's minds a lot of the time.

Whoever is in the lead during the gen will never really "do" anything since you're going to buy the console no matter what. It's why Microsoft tried and succeeded with E3 this year, they know they're the bad guys, they know they're failing on all fronts and they know they have to turn it around and this was a great step forward, whereas Sony know they can show Last of Us 2, Spiderman and several other games and get away with it since they know it'll sell millions on as 70 million people own a PS4.

You can play with PC players. I was able play a match with my brother (me on switch, him on PC). I think if you want to play with people on other platforms you have to be invited by someone using that platform. I was able to invite a PC player to my lobby, but im not sure if the players we faced were on switch or PC.
