Hey everyone, I couldn't find this thread anywhere so I thought I would take it upon myself to create. As always if this already exists than just delete mine. This thread is just for talking about comics, comic related movies, games, and events. Just anything you can think of relating to COMICS!
Today I graded and priced my comic book collection and it came out over 3500 dollars. Just thought I'd share.

How'd you do that? Or did you just count how much the prices were in all?
I have no idea how much mine would be but I'm assuming it goes in the thousands too.

I don't know how much mine is worth but I have a SHI- ton of comics. I doubt I'd be in your price range but I know I have some seriously high value stuff. I love comics. Easily one of the best collections to have. Every page is a new work of art. It's only £2 for a comic making it one of the cheapest hobbies to collect and they have such a high sell value at a later date. I don't collect for money, I do generally read what I buy but I take care of them so I can sell 'em off before I die or give them away.
Not reading anything big at the moment. I've just been collecting a few one-offs or issue #1s of a series.

Wow that collection is amazing!
I'm one of those jerks who downloads everything. I have about 600 gigs of comics... I will die before I read most of them.

Not sure who you're referring to but I'm gonna ssume it's me :P Thanks.
See, I can't stand reading comics, books or magazines (basically anything that's supposed to be printed) on a screen. It just feels weird and wrong.

This may be a bit off topic, so I apologize, but I was in a comic shop today where a little boy and his mom were looking at the kids comics. However, some adult ones are nearby as well, and he happened to spot the most scantily clad lady on a cover.
Boy: She's naughty, isn't she, momma?
Mom: Yes she is.

I read The Walking Dead, and I also have an Army of Darkness I haven't gotten to yet. I'm going to make a huge mastepost of all my nerdery at one time (probably on the "collections" thread) sometime after I get back from the horror convention this weekend.

I'd recommend you also try (the short) Marvel Zombies series. Really interesting to read if you don't take it too seriously, but it's not just Marvel Zombies, it's Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darkness. So yes, you will find Ash and Zombie Spiderman going at it.
The art is incredible too. Very well drawn.
*and Howard the Duck is in it...a lot!

Been collecting comics since I was a wee teen. I have a lot of DC, a bit of Marvel, but mostly just stuff that's it's own, collected, personal story. All of Sandman, all of Y:The Last Man, all of Unwritten and Chew(so far) and all of Locke and Key(My favorite.)
Good stuff, all around, mate. I'll post some pics tonight.

Free Comic Book Day was founded by a guy named Joe Field. It's basically a day where a bunch of participating comic book stores(And some regular book stores) give out free comic books. No, I don't mean you walk in and they hand over their stock. Usually comic companies will choose a single issue of their story they want to give away, in hopes you'll read it and start collecting. So there's a lit of comics, every year, that are being handed out. If you go to a particularly popular comic store, they may even pay a famous artist to come in and sign your comics.(Either for free or for a price.)
The guy I mentioned earlier? Joe Field? I know him. Swell guy. He owns Flying Colors Comics, which is a comic store kinda near where I live.(Roughly a one hour drive.) So I often go there and get my comic book needs. This year I couldn't go to Free Comic Book Day, due to a work schedule conflict.

That's a link to Wikipedia;s article on Free Comic Day.

And that's a link to what was given away this year. Some notables include:
Mega Man/Sonic: Right now there's a big cross over in the Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series. It's pretty good. It's also Mega Man and Sonic. So, yeah, obviously it rocks.
The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: A fan of My Chemical Romance? Then you may be familiar with the album of the same name. It's a comic series based on the album. Or the album is based on the comic series. I do not know, as I do not read Killjoys, nor listen to MCR.
Judge Dredd: See the movie. Then read the comic it's based on.
The Tick: Dude. It's The Tick. He protects the city of The City.
