The Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread
#1
Super Smash Bros. 4 is an upcoming game for the Wii U and 3DS.
Like pretty much every other smash game, there is a ton of hype for it. There is so much you could do with a game like smash that the discussions could go on for a long time.
What characters do you want in Smash?
What stages?
What game modes?
What kind of online?
What items?
Post anything Smash 4 related whether it be news or ideas or whatever.

I am absolutely elated for the new Smash Bros. I think they should bring back all the characters they took out of Melee and bring these in too:
King K. Rool
Dixie Kong
Bowser Jr./Evil Mario
Waluigi
Tails or Knuckles (doubtful)
More Toon characters from Wind Waker
More Pokemon
Birdo

Stages:
Tracks from Mario Kart
Peachs Castle from Melee
Islands from Wind Waker
Levels from Super Mario Sunshine

I can't think of anything else right now.

I'm very excited for the new smash game too. I think adding Mewtwo and his new form would be great.

Hopefully I'll get a Wii U by the time this game releases. I never bought a game in this series before and I only really play it casually against friends. But I am terrible.

I also wonder if they'll have some collaborative uses between the Wii U and 3DS.

Kinda bums me out in that I have absolutely zero plans to get the Wii U, yet Smash Bros. will be coming out for it. I'll probably just play it at a friend's house.

I really hope Smash 4 isn't an all around disappointment like Brawl was.

As long as they don't do something completely retarded I will be happy with it.

They confirmed at launch there will be a Wii U smashbros and a 3DS smashbros and they will interact in some fashion

I want to see something Advanced Wars related, and mewtwo again, changing like Samus or Zelda do between forms.
That, and I want to see more 3rd party characters.
Who knows? Bayonetta 2 is a wii exclusive.
That'd definitely keep a kid friendly rating.

Most Nintendo fans would be licking their lips now even though there aren't any screenshots or videos just because of the Nintendo fan service that is in this series past and present and that the first two games are actually pretty good (not played Brawl). Even then it might not be out until next year at the earliest. Since I try to be the neutral person in terms of games (even though I do have a bias like everyone), I hope Nintendo are aware of the problems that were in the last game like from what I heard the tripping mechanic and the net code being the main problems and do everything to fix them but yet include something new to keep the game from suffering like the New Super Mario Bros. series in terms of reception. Namco are co-working on this game and they have a history of fighting games, well Tekken and Soul Calibur both that have a strong fan base, in the case of Tekken often make it in fighting tournaments so they have the experience of pleasing the die hard fighting game fans.

Now since Namco is co-developer, I doubt that Sonic and Snake from the previous game would return unless Nintendo get permission from Sega and Konami so it would probably be the Nintendo franchises and possibly have a couple of guest Namco characters like Pac-Man. Remember Miyamoto likes Pac-Man so chances are he might get in. If Nintendo are currently on playing safe mode then expect the usual characters Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Link, Zelda, Samus, Kirby, a Pokemon or two, a few character clones [e.g. Dr. Mario, Toon Link], Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong [due to Donkey Kong Country Returns/recent Mario spinoffs], Wario, your own Mii, male character from the latest Fire Emblem, Captain Olimar [due to Pikmin 3] and wouldn't be surprised if Professor Layton turns up as well but understandable if he doesn't. In fact I'm not even sure if Fox, Ness or Captain Falcon make it this time even though they appeared in all of the games so far. It depends on whether Nintendo will include characters/stages from their most recent games/available games for marketing purposes like Sega did for Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed or will includes some obscure characters as well like Dillion, Takamaru, Lolo and Mike Jones, the latter Nintendo seemed to have forgotten his existance. While there is a list of Nintendo [and Namco] characters I would like to see, sadly none of them will be in the game and they are the more likely ones too [this is why I haven't listed them].

As for stages, I think there might be an Animal Crossing one, one from the Mo/Blox series, Luigi's Mansion, Nintendo Land [having a stage full of Miis might be a bit too much for the Wii U/3DS though], Rolling Western as well as the usual Peach's Castle [this time done in the style of NSMBU], Rainbow Ride, Hyrule, Mushroom Kingdom, Jungle Japes, Brinstar/Planet Zebes, a Pokemon theme one, Green Greens, a Pikmin one, Urban Champion and maybe the return of Subcon, Balloon Fight. As you can see not high hopes but might be surprised.

Since Sakurai has a poorly arm and can't do as much as he used to, I wonder if it is his last Smash Bros that he will work on and might be the last Smash Bros title unless someone can take his place and do a good job.
