Your Pokemon X/Y Thoughts (SPOILERS ALERT)

Like Charizard is Fire/Flying/Dragon type? Normal against ice/water/electric. Supper effective against Dragon and rock type.

That might be when I'll have to throw in the towel for competitive battling. I already have a hard time remembering the neutral/super effective hits of a plethora of dual type Pokes.

Whats everyone's opinion on the Mega Evolutions?

This sums up what I think of them. Just as long as they do not steal anything else from Digimon, I'll be fine.

I actually find the Digimon comparisons rather funny because its only "mega" in English.

So I opened up that link thinking 'No shinies are gonna impress me today' and then blue Sylveon.
I really can't wait for these games, my 3DS is so ready.
By the way, how likely do you all think a console tie-in for XY will be announced later on? For me, a lot of the appeal for Battle Revolution, Colliseum, etc was the 3D visuals but now they can do the same with the 3DS.

Well if they did make a tie in game for the Wii U it would HAVE to be called Pokemon Z

I've seen most of those over the course of this week, I'm so excited.

I love Digimon just as much, so honestly I can't wait.

I played it at Eurogamer today, so I can give some insight.

I believe running shoes have been replaced with Roller Blades, as you can glide around using them. You can move diagonally of course, which is interesting.

Anyhow, stuff you probably didn't know.

Whenever you start a battle, instead of there being a silhouette across the screen, it's actually a small animation saying "Trainer Class wants to battle" and then the battle proceeds.

Also, instead of small grass, there are new areas such as fields of flowers, and I think bushes, you also are forced to walk through them, which means that the rollerblades only work on normal grass.

Also, Pokémon now roam freely, as in you can see them throughout the area you are in, instead of never seeing them, or them being outside of their Pokéball inside a house or something.

All I could do seemed to be interact with them, and that's it. I don't know if you could catch them. I doubt it, mostly because it was be a easy way to find Pokémon.

Uh, the battling was pretty much the same, except for new animations and such.

Oh, and Megaevolutions aren't just something that works for one turn, they are instead something that lasts until the Pokemon faints. In the demo I was given a Mewtwo, which I turned into Mewthree, and it used the stayed that way for the entire battle.

There are three rivals it seems, and another Male Pokémon Prof.

Apart from that, I can't say anything else.

Oh, and the 2DS is really comfy.

Thanks for the information.
1) Can you turn of battle animations?
2) Do the Pokemon resort to their default form after the battle if they Megaevolved(A la Digimon?)?

Each Pokémon that has a mega evolution gets a stone that is specific to that Pokémon. The stones are held items and can be triggered when the player pleases (I think). Each mega evolution lasts until the end of battle unless the creature is knocked out. I'm assuming X and Y will have different mega evolutions so Mega Charizard X will look different compared to Mega Charizard Y. I don't think the way to obtain the stones has been mentioned and I don't know if the game specific evolutions will differ from each other in any other way than appearance. Oh, and each generation apart from the previous has mega forms.

That explain it?
