It's actually the first one that I've liked for a while.

The problem I find is that Pokemon up to Gen 5 were generally based around animals. After that they start to make them based on objects which is where the designs really took a dive. No crazy patterns on the Pokemon, colours or additional limbs/features. The new generation still looks OK, but it's easy to point out the bad in this generation despite that not being the full list.

Also, MegaBlastoise isn't WaterSteel type?

Ahem,
grimer, magnemite, voltorb, trubbish, hitmonlee, hitomchan, koffing, weezing, rotom, vanilluxe, porygon, lickitung, luvdisc, pineco, banette, geodude, the whole regi family, boldore.

I named all these off the top of my head. There's a lot of weird designs that have been out for quite a while now.

As for Mega Blastoise, I don't know, that is a good point.

I gotta agree. This is the best generation since the third. To me, everything between has been less than desirable. I haven't seen this many new creatures that I've liked in ages.

Only 5 days away, I'm choosing froakie mostly because I always choose the water starters, and his final evolution looks the best in my opinion.

This generation is fine, just give me the flying/fire bird and the gooey Dragon and I'm good!

Nope. Honestly, as long as the game itself is good and has story that interests me that the way that gen 5 did, this will be my new favorite generation without question.

Your a ten-year-old kid. You get your first pokmon (grass). You go around colecting badges from Gym leaders to take on the Elite Four plus the champ. Along the way, you have to beat the evil gang of bad guys because we said so.

That's all the story it really needs. Why do we need anything bigger? Gens 1 and 2 did not have plots to take over the weather, time, the universe or whatever. They did not really need them. They just had Team Rocket taking over the world by stealing pokemon (and trying to get back to together in the sequel). That's not saying these are bad plots (atlest most of them are not). I'm just saying that sometimes you can over think a game where you are a kid going into a world of dangerous monsters just to train and capture them.

P.S. reading over the plans for each team, they start to repeat themselves after awhile, with Gen 5 changing it a little with trying to have everyone stop using pokemon before going back to the usual "Trying to use a legendary for evil" plan. I would like to see something different when it comes to the plot, but seeing as it is owned by Nintendo, I am waiting to see what Team Flare will do with the embodiments of Good and Evil (or whatever they are meant to be).

The way gen 5 did it though, at least in the original black and white, actually made me care about the team and it's endeavors as opposed to previous games where beating the enemy team was just a means of training to be able to beat gyms and eventually the elite 4. Black and White 2 did that to some extent but not as much as the first ones. Those two games though have changed my expectations in a way that am hoping the team is good plot device and has characters I actually care about like N. In some way or another, the story should at least be on par with the previous games, else this generation, at least for me will fall a bit short.

I whole heartily agree with you. For me, it like the Mario games. We have seen "great" plots with Mario Galaxy but go back to the boring plots after that and try to make up for great characters like Rosalina with a comic relief purple Luma.

I have yet to play Black and White and the Sequel, but I have heard about Team Plasma's plan in the first one (I have not seen or heard anything about Black and White 2). It's nice to have someone that sounds good and makes you want to route for them. If the twist is what I think it is (The leader being the only really evil one and the followers really believe the PETA plot) that's a good twist, but I think it would be better if he was doing it because he thought he was doing good. That would make you think a little more on who is really right and who is wrong or if there really is a right. Pokemon is good at having very suttle ideas in the back ground. You can play the game as a kid and not see the creepy ideas in play but they are there to make they a little better. This is what makes it one of my favorite series to play, even though I do not play the newer games.

If what I have read about the newer games is true, I want Team Flare to be controlled by Yveltal, since he is the embodiment Evil and Team Flare loves money. That's the best I can think of without following the games as much as you guys. I'm sure that Game Freak can think of a better plot.

It is real, someone showed it in the game on Reddit.

It was on DA's hotpage, said in the description that if what he had seen were true then that was the Z legendary.
