Thanks to a user on MFC adding them to the database, I was so happy that the two Sorcerer Hunter garage kits I thought were awesome were actually made into cold cast figures! She was kind enough to link to an auction that had Chocolate, so getting her was really easy!
I'm not too happy about whatever got on her hat, but that'll be an easy cover up. What scares me more is I'll have to figure out what I want to do about the fact she seems to be slowly leaning further and further back due to how the weight is. Chocolate doesn't seem to be in danger of toppling over now, but I really think it will be a problem in the future.
What really sucked was that in the seller's description for Chocolate the mentioned that they thought they had Tira as well. That ended up to not be the case. As much as I feared only ending up with one part of the pair due to how rare these seems to be, I just got Chocolate anyway.
I checked eBay everyday and also decided to keep a look out on Yahoo Japan Auctions, even though the proxy and shipping fees would kill me. I did find a Tira on YJA, but she was damaged. No way would I consider that.
Then, out of desperation, I decided to type the Engrish on the box into the eBay search engine. It actually worked. Here's the box, in case you're curious. I assume it says somewhere which girl you're getting, but otherwise their boxes are exactly the same:
Now the problem was that the auction that popped up listed both girls in the title, but had only one item. I read through all the drivel the seller typed about themselves and how they'd acquired some anime merchandise they knew nothing about (lucky!) while I 'm just sitting there going
Finally I reached the end to read "the box shows both girls but the only one inside is the one without the hat".
YEEEEEESSSS!
But then there was another problem... They had her listed as $150... But there was a best offer! ...But four other people had tried and been turned down. ...I tried anyway... AND MY OFFER WAS ACCEPTED THE SAME NIGHT!
I noticed there's what feels like dried glue on her whip, so I think it may have been attached to her body at one point, but otherwise Tira's great. I had a bit of a hard time getting her into the base, and she still sticks out a little, but it's OK.
These were my first coldcast figures, so I was pretty scared how they'd fair during shipping. Thank goodness they made it one piece! I just love them! It was pure agony until I lucked out and found Tira to accompany her sister.
Their Mini-Mes are happy to have them as well!
