The most annoying things in video games?
#1
The most annoying things for me in video games is the parts that are to cryptic to solve. For example my problem with the professor layton games is that the hints are not very precise and can confuse me at times. Does anyone else here feels the same for the professor layton games? I'd love to know that!

Water levels and quicktime events. My God how I hate both of those.

As for pretty much everything in the poll, I can learn to live with those. Unless it's a game with literally all of them, in which case I'll most likely throw the game into a shredder.

Dumb gimmicks that aim for a "more realistic experience".

Games made for art's sake.

Unfair difficulty is just stupid. Bad controls are the worst, they can easily ruin an otherwise perfect game.

What are invisible walls?

Invisible walls are just what they sound like. You try to walk to a part of the game you are not supposed to go and you just end up walking against what is, essentially, an invisible wall. It's ridiculous how many games STILL use them.

Even the much praised Last of Us is guilty of this.

So how does that exactly become annoying? It would probably be the skybox of the level which is only for the scenery and its also because the game engines have limited space.

Bosses that get tougher the less health they have.

Worst for me was DQ8's prison island part. I still have no idea if I was just supposed to wait an obscene amount of time or if talking to all those people x10 actually mattered.

Kinda surprised nobody mentioned Escort Missions. Those are a major pain to me. Do I even need to explain how Resident Evil 4 is guilty of this?

Where's that option? But only when it's in a place like a Cutscene. *cough* resident evil *cough*

Not sure where this would go on the list, but stupid half-assed Stealth segments in games that have nothing to do with stealth. Seriously, why the fuck does Aang have to spend twenty minutes sneaking around a god damn library? I don't mind them that much if they're quick or not brutally difficult, like in Ocarina of Time or Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, but god dammit stealth cones are bullshit.

Oh god, bosses that restore health.
I don't know what it is, but that bothers me. It's such a cheap elongation.
