KH and FF10 series remakes
#1
I can't be the only one excited for KH which is a week away and Final Fantasy 10 which is to come? Is anyone here getting them? Let's talk some about them because I am hugely anticipating both right now.

Not really a new one for FF10, an HD Remake of the old one. Looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20dK5j8Kjbc

I think I would be more exited about 1.5 if it let us play 358/2 Days. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of bringing 2 of the lest liked games (admit it, people like 2 better than 1 and people out right hate CoM) into one pakage with some atimpt to fill in the gaps with a cinematic retelling of Days, but I would have loved to play the game on the PS3. You really don't need the toutch screen. Just remake it and add a few new features. They did it with RE:CoM.

I can agree with that. Supposedly 358 was turned into a cinematic re-telling because it would have taken a lot longer get the game out if they'd made a playable version available. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but I think the two major reasons this is even happening is to get the game's story fresh in people's mind before KH3 comes out and to finally release final mix versions of some of the games outside of Japan. I assume we'll probably also get a 2.5 HD before 3 comes out.

All that said, I never actually played any version of Chain of Memories and I am excited for Kingdom Hearts 1 final mix because I really did enjoy that game.

Chain of Memories isn't really that great. Its just Kingdom Hearts 1 with a frustrating card system, and the ability to play as Riku, who if memory serves, has a very strict card selection.

CoM is not that bad. It's just different. I like it just for what it is and what they tryed to do, even though it takes a long time to get use to the way it plays if you just come off of a normal RPG. It's a black sheep and nothing more. It's not bad, but not the best.

Maybe its because it was the remake that I played.

I never played Chain of memories so it will be a new experience for me altogether. I'm interested to see how it plays, but my expectations aren't too high either.

Chain of Memories was pretty good. Now, I could never beat it on the GBA, but I beat the heck outta it on PS2. Everyone hated it because it was different, but I really liked it. Heck, I even used to play the KH card game, I was that into it.

I've really lost track with the KH games. I played KH1, CoM, KH2, and 358/2, but I just didn't see the series continuing past KH2. I mean, it's been 8 years since KH2 was released, and I just thought they'd keep releasing filler games. Now that 3 is being released, I guess I gotta start paying attention again...

On topic though, With the production of KH3 being announced, I'm pretty excited for the 1.5 remix. And heck, 3 hours worth of 358/2 retelling? This may be something that I'd actually sit down to watch.

The thing is though, while coded might fit as filler, BBS and Dream Drop Distance are not only cannon, but required to know in order to get what's going to happen in KH3. Also, to be honest, BBS' ending was probably my favorite one in the series so I think it's worth playing.

As for the re-telling of 358/2, I'm actually excited to see it as well, plus I heard there is trophy data for it for extra incentive. I don't know if that's true though. Either way, I'm excited for tuesday.
