There's no remake on PC or DS. Those both are just ports of the original.

I love the original for the fun gameplay, not just for the cheesy dialogue. I keep having fun by trying to beat my own times. It's amazing how they managed to keep the tank controls for almost 15 years.

Deadly Silence on the DS had a new mode though. Similar to how the Wii games are different. Semi-remake if anything and yeah, you're right there isn't one on PC. My mistake.

I think Resident Evil one is just bad. But RE2, 3 CV:X, Outbreak(eh) I can stand and generally see what's good about. I enjoy the original RE1 for all the wrong reasons. RE2 is where I think the series was really pushed forward.
But I loved the mansion setting of the first.

Ah, Resident Evil. So many good times. So many.

I used to watch my older brother's best friend play RE2 in my room(I shared with my brother). I was so little I wasn't allowed to watch, so my brother and his friend would tell my mom I was asleep, so I could watch. And the G-Tyrant in RE2 scared the living hell out of me. When the parasite blew out of the reporter, I'd had it. Haha. And then when that licker busts out of the one-way mirror. Gawd. I was only like. 6 or 7.

Anyways. Then I got RE4 for my 16th birthday or something, and that was the start of my addiction. I beat that game(More like, beat it 40 times.) and then went through RE0-CV:X to fully understand the lore. A lot of people seemingly hate Resident Evil 5, but I actually thought it was "okay." I felt like the BOW's were uninspired, as were the boss fights. (Fighting Uruboros 3 times was dull.) And the final Wesker fight wasn't even fun. But the gameplay was still decent, and then I'd play Mercenaries for hours on end.

For RE6, I really enjoyed Leon's campaign. I had a bit of fun with Jake's campaign. Chris's was really dull for me. I didn't like it and I really wanted Chris and his partner to die. The entire time. It wreaked of RE5's theme of "Partnership" and "WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER! =3" so I was mostly unimpressed. I actually did not play Ada's campaign. I got like, a third into the first act, and then, I dunno, something happened, and I never played again. I may tonight, though.

Distraction, do you have RE6 on the PS3?

I wouldn't even call it a semi-remake. All that the new mode added was some puzzles that used the stylus and a couple of knife-fighting minigames. It's no more than the Battle Game the Saturn port added.

I see alot of that hate too but I feel that most of it is undeserved. RE5 is my second favorite RE title, only topped by RE3.

Oh, and yes, I do have RE6 on PS3 :P

Damn. If you had it on Xbox we should definitely team up. I loved RE5 though. Most solid probably the best and most solid RE: Mercenaries game they've made. Perfect mechanics.

Then there's RE6s Mercenaries which are broken and a mess and full of cheaters. :(

I've actually never owned an Xbox. I don't really play RE5 nowadays but it's only because my PS3 died and I can't get my saves out of the hard drive. Stupid Sony not responding to my emails...

I find it ridiculous that I'm not even getting a reply from Sony on how to get my saves back. Now I have to drag it to a store and pay over 100€ just to get it fixed. Again. Paying for it really sucks because I don't even plan on playing on it again as I already got a Slim and re-bought a PS2 because I don't trust it to last for long anymore even if it's fixed.

Damn. I think we're both in the same boat. My PS3 is completely screwed (and it's not modded either). It won't turn on and after fully deleting everything from the hard drive, it still won't work. So, like you, I think I have to go a Sony center and get it repaired.
....yay >: (
Fortunately for me I rarely used my PS3 as I mostly play Xbox but that doesn't mean I'm gonna let this sit.
Not cool. Sonys/Squares fault at this point.

Hey, at least you have that Sony center. We don't have even that. Literally the only thing we have is an email that is propably forwarded to nowhere, seeing how they absolutely never reply to anything. I have to get mine fixed in a store or something and that propably costs more than what Sony would charge.

If at that point, I'd say, sell your PS3 for spares and repair and put that money towards another PS3.

I have a new PS3. Have had one for a long while. What my point is, I want my goddamn saves back from the hard drive of the old console.

Since you said that you know EVERYTHING about the series, maybe you can debunk this for me. I keep hearing rumors that in Resident Evil 2, in the underground facility, there's a locked room containing a dead Nemesis from RE3. Since RE2 takes place after RE3, it makes since to me, but there is still the whole thing that we did not know about Nemesis until RE3, I don't think they thought about him until afterward. Thoughts or proof that it is/is not real?

I've never heard of this nor have I ever seen anything like it in the game. And trust me, I've played it a lot. There is, however, a locked room that contains a dead Hunter but only in the N64 version. Maybe that's where the rumor you heard got started? In all other versions (not sure about Game.com) the room only has a couple of Lickers.

On a related note, you can see a dead T-103 Tyrant (the same model as Mr.X from RE2) in the Disposal Plant near the end of RE3. Nemesis consumes him after getting severly injured.

If you want I could give you some information on Nemesis and what the deal with them is before the events of RE3. Some of that has been revealed through files.

Btw. RE2 doesn't take place after RE3, it takes place in the middle of it. RE3 begins before RE2 and ends a couple of days after.
