14th Anniversary of the Dreamcast's release.
#1
I talk about Dreamcast a lot, but I just wanted to make a thread about it.

Anyone got any cool stories for this occasion?

>Get a DC when I was 6 or so
>Played it quite a bit, loved MSR, Sonic and more great gems on the system.
>Dreamcast was in our Sitting Room, and it was pretty damn cold, it went up to -10 back then.
>One night stay up playing Quake 3, Sonic, MSR and more till the early hours of the morning on a school night
>Mum and brother find me asleep with a Dreamcast controller in my hand
>Wakes me up and tells me if you love the system that much you don't have to go to school today

Best day ever.

I never got a Dreamcast because all the good games for it came on on Xbox/PS2 and GameCube and in nearly every case with more and better content.
The end :)

Nah. I honestly never got a Dreamcast though. I was more excited for the GameCube. That being said, it's a damn good console that gave us amazing games such as Jet Set Radio, Third Strike, Marvel vs Capcom, Sonic Adventure, Shenmue etc. Not to mention the ideas that went into it such as the controller, online and peripherals. Very ambitious console that should've had more support.

Devil May Cry sucks.

See I can do it too.

=)

But in all honesty, I doubt a lot of people got it in it's short run, and the fact that people were more concerned with Sony and Nintendo, it wasn't a surprise not many people go it.

My tears! D:

Yeah. Funnily enough, I find it hard to name bad games on the Dreamcast as opposed to the PS2 and Xbox.
Feel to free to point out some titles, but to me, the Dreamcast(and lesser extent GameCube) had a generally solid library that wasn't filled with crap like the other two.
A bad Dreamcast game, does one even exist?

Ironically, the only bad ones I can think of are usually ports from the PS1. I can't think of a bad Dreamcast game mostly because you could name 10 more that are good.

It had a bit of shovelware though.
