This seemed like a popular choice for whatever reason, but I really could careless. More fighters for Smash, but I haven't played an Animal Crossing game in years so I have no connection to Isabelle.

ISABELLE MAIN. CALLING IT NOW. YOU ARE ALL GOING DOWN.

According to the latest issue of Corocoro magazine, Ultimate will have a total of 108 stages.
That's 5 more stages than what was shown in the Smash Ultimate Direct in August.

Few things, I went to the smash bros in Minneapolis. Can't wait for December 7th!
Also, can't remember if I shared, but I made a Discord for Smash Bros (non competitive!) all for fun and to talk about smash.

PowerA are releasing wireless Gamecube controllers for Ultimate/Switch.
They look surprisingly faithful in terms of design and include an extra shoulder button and motion controls.
You can pre-order one for $49.99.
They are also making a USB wired version (w/o motion controls) for $24.99.

Mainly for two reasons.
Reason number one: It's third party. Every controller I have bought that was third party is just terrible. Either stopped working, joystick broke, or it just shatters in my hands (had a PS3 3rd party controller shatter when I was playing Kingdom Hearts).
Reason number two: I haven't bought a third party controller in four years now. (I forgot the real reason two).
WAIT! I remembered before posting! You can buy a real gamecube controller for cheaper. It feels more... pure.

"Leak" proven false.
Apparently, there is a credible leak that just revealed the full roster of the game.
I don't know what was leaked specifically, but I do know a lot of prominent people in the Smash community are treating it like it's real, and that was enough for me to turn up my spoiler blockers and go into hiding. (Not before being spoiled, as seen below.)
Here is a reddit post that discusses it if you don't care about spoilers.
(Also please do not post any specific spoilers in the thread. If you guys want to discuss it, please use the spoiler tab.)
UPDATE:
Here's basically what happened (No Spoilers):
A disgruntled employee of a French marketing firm posted a Snapchat video of a promotional wristband for Ultimate which featured the supposedly complete "Everyone is Here" art with previously unseen characters. As well as the complete background to the image, which hasn't been released anywhere else.
Someone took a screenshot of the video and posted it to a french gaming forum and eventually it made it's way to 4chan where it spread.
Whoever took the screenshot did a poor job of censoring the employee's name and his LinkedIn page was found which confirms he does work for the firm and the firm specifically mentions Namco Bandai as a partner.
Also, previously unseen promotional renders of the Grinch for the new film can be seen in the background of the leak, showing that these photos were taken at the firm and that they do handle unreleased materials.
As for the additional characters it shows...

I'm not as disappointed as I thought I would be to have another pokemon rep in the game. In fact, he looks like he may be really fun to play. Ken looks cool too, but I'm not sure if I will be able to get a hold of playing him.
I laughed when I saw Yuri as an Assist Trophy. I haven't played any of the Fatal Frame (not counting the one on the 3DS, which really doesn't feel like one), but I do understand who she is and I agree that she makes a great Assist Trophy.
The new Adventure mode is what I'm really exited for now. It looks like Subspace and 3DS's Classic mode smushed together. I really like it, but from what I've heard from my brother, not everyone sees what I see. Still new Adventure mode with a new theme with lyrics.
And for the first announced DLC character.... I really don't know what to thick about it. For one, I'm really pissed because it's a very stupid character that pretty much stole a spot from anyone that I may have wanted. On the other hand, I kinda like the absurdity of the character. I would have rather it be an Assist Trophy, but I guess if Game & Watch and Duck Hunt can be characters, anyone can. It's still the worst character to ever be announced though.

Piranha Plant saved this Direct honestly.
I'm being deadass honest.
Incineroar over Decidueye didn't sit well with me because I love Grass Starters. I don't care about Ken. Overall, just really happy that Castlevania rep got in.
Spirits Mode is basically a more streamlined story version of Events and the exclusion of Trophies in favor for Collectable upgrades. It just doesn't really sound all that appealing.
The DLC Fighter Pass presentation was really underwhelming. Which is one of my gripe with Nintendo, is that they suck at doing DLC. How is it that other Game Companies like Namco, SNK or Capcom can sell thier DLC presentation well enough to drum up hype but with Nintendo it basically "Oh, if your disappointed with the lineup, don't worry your little heads about it... we got DLC fighters in the works!!! BUT you don't have to get it if you don't want to!!!!". What kind of advertising is that?
Then the Piranha Plant reveal comes along and makes it worth it. Personally speaking, I never enjoyed these smash speculation, theories or leaks because the fan base always seem to have a "holier than thou" mentality. So to see a reveal like that is just so damn funny. I'm actually gonna main it alongside Megaman, Duck Hunt Dog and The Belmonts.

You see, I agree with you for the most part. This is probbly Sakurai's trump card for everyone screaming "I want Issic," "I want Geno," "I want Heihachi." It's a good out of no where character that nobody saw coming, Like Mr. Game & Watch, Wii Fit Trainer, R.O.B., and Duck Hunt. It's a thing that Sakurai does for each game. Also, this feels like a response to the Bandanna Dee requests.
That being said, Why Perana Plant? Why not Tatanga from Super Mario Land, Mach Rider, Excitebike, Mike from Startropics? You have a grand catalog of games and IPs you can pull from. Are you telling me that Nester, someone that, granted, not a lot of people outside of the US is going to know much about, but still has a big impact on a bunch of gamers, isn't a good pick?
I'm happy to have a new fighter no matter who it is, but to paraphrase someone, "With Piranha Plant as a fighter, it opens the gate to have a Tektite from Zelda, a Metroid, a Motobug from Sonic, and a Metool from Megaman as fighters." Why does Klaptrap have to be an assist trophy but Piranha Plant doesn't? I just don't want it to turn into Mario Party, where you have the main characters, the main villains, and then random enemy minions to fill up the roster.
