Well that just literally scared the shit out of my guinea pigs.

eBay sellers are jerks. Don't give a "Best Offer" option if you don't intend to take one or even negotiate a price.

Just to be cheeky I offered him a price $1 below what he has currently listed and he still turned me down!

I've actually had some good luck with "Best Offer" sellers. They obviously have a minimum that they're willing accept but I've definitely saved some money off their "Buy It Now" prices a few times. Of course, everybody is different but don't give up on those best offers just yet.

...I gotta admit I have more luck doing something a little shady.

If an item is expensive I keep a very close eye on it and watch how often it gets relisted. This happened with an ultra rare Morrigan figure that a seller ended up giving up on, so I contacted him and asked if he'd sell it to me directly through PayPal at a cheaper price to avoid eBay fees.

I saved myself $200 that way. No one else has gotten a better deal than me since; I've seen used ones sell for higher.

I'm glad it all worked out for you but you got lucky there. You need to be extremely careful when proposing deals like that as they are 100% against eBay's terms of service and offer you no protection should the seller decide not to send you your item. You would then have to take up your case with PayPal which is hit or miss at best.

Yes, I do understand that, and a seller did try to cheat me once. However, there was no tracking or proof the item was ever sent, so they ruled in my favor. Typically you're OK as long as you don't send payment as a gift.

I don't think eBay monitors messages at all because I've gotten away with this several times over the course of about two years.
I've also had good negotiations with sellers and offers. I don't usually do it myself when selling however.
This gif exists and that makes me SO happy.

I was laughing today at some really crude joke about dead animals (I like animals, don't get your panties in a bunch), 90s game shows and random slime and my mother happened to hear it. Her reply: "Clearly you play too much videogames". I think I died a little bit inside. Also killed my good mood.

Seriously, this is why we can't have nice things.

EDIT: Similar story so I guess I could throw this in too. My aunt visited yesterday when she was dropping off my cousin. She happened to glance at my TV that had Ducktales Remastered on it. "Oh, so THESE are those "videogames" you keep playing." I seriously can't believe I live in a society where videogames are still considered something out of the norm and are something people have no knowledge of.

That's actually very surprising from an American point of view, because literally everyone plays video games whether you are hardcore or just play a little bit.
Other people want superpowers. I just want the power to quit putting things in odd places. Like, that CD I put in the Toaster. OR the time I put my keys in the dog food bowl, the freezer, the toilet, my Dad's lunchbox.

I do all of this totally sober too. I just don't know how or WHY I do it...
