~3 years too late but the whole IGN "Too much water" shit is true those stupid fuckin' Third gen Pokemon games have way too many water segments to the point where it's obnoxious. It's the exact same thing mechanically as if half of a Pokemon game took place in caves, except it looks pretty so people ignore it. Then the rest of the game is filled with tons of caves, narrow bridges full of grass, giant fields full of super tall slow grass, etc. Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald easily have the most tedious overworld of any Pokemon game out there.

I never understood this complaint. You have to deal with water four times in the game. There are only four places you need to surf to get to. Team Aqua/Magma's base, Sootopolis, Mossdeep and Ever Grande City. If you counted it with encounter rate included and have the player run away (instead of just using Max Repel like any normal person would) it'd take you around 30 minutes (and I'm talking max amount of time). Lilycove to Team Aqua/Magma's base, followed by Lilycove to Mossdeep, Mossdeep to Sootopolis (along with Diving) and then the final swim to Ever Grande AND THAT'S IT. That's all the mandatory surfing required in Gen 3. As for caves, there's like barely three you have to go through the Rustturf tunnel you have to go through like 20% of it for the story which is mandatory, Granite Cave and Victory Tunnel are the only other mandatory ones I can remember. As for your other complaints, you're just talking about like one part of the game which funnily enough is just before Fortree City, and can be fixed by just using repel. At least have some legitimate complaints towards the game, like how there's no end game content, lack of a "GBA Music player", no choice to change the players clothes, little to no challenge in the game in general etc.

If people are going to complain about water in a Pokemon game, the best game for that Ultra Sun and Moon. I know there are islands so it makes sense there's a lot of water, but Mantine Surfing is incredibly bare bones and is either too easy because nothing is there, or too hard because you can't avoid all the obstacles. There's hardly an in between. Also, it's not fun. All you do is go up in the air and move the analog stick or the D-pad the right way and hope the combo you wanted to do actually happens. Even at that though, because most of the water and be avoided through boats, it's not mandatory, so it's easy to avoid, and I suggest you do it unless you want some of the okay TM's you can get. A lot of hype did go into that trailer though, and we got so little out of it, so it was a disappointment.

Decided to replay Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and I just noticed something funky. The title screen and main menu on my copy say "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding", which is the game's name in the PAL region. However, this copy is most definitely an NTSC copy, since the cartridge is blue, unlike the PAL version which is gray. The label on the cart says "Pro Skater". Unless some guy swapped the PAL board into the NTSC cart, then gave it to Hollywood Video in the 90s, and then I bought it, I'm pretty sure this is the NTSC version. All footage I can find of the NTSC version online say "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" at the title screen.
I power cycled the game to see if it was maybe a glitch and the logo PAL logo still popped up. I would like to point out I've had this game for almost my entire life and I've just now noticed this. EDIT: I figured it out. For some odd reason, the US version 1.1 (which I apparently have), was based on the PAL version, and left the changed title screen when they released it stateside. Somehow all the footage I could find online of the N64 version is 1.0.

Been feeling nostalgic and playing some YuGiOh Tag Force. Game used to be SO SLOWWWWWW. I quit when ending on turn 2 was a common event. Turn 27 isn't that weird of a prospect. Kind of nice but admittedly boring having experience the future of that game.

I love being able to bring my Switch to work. I have many co-workers who are thinking about getting one and I get to show it off or let them try it out.

Man, it's so weird to just seem people actively use the Switch like you do. Not having a go at you or anything, but it's incredible that the Switch was a success in ACTUALLY doing it's job. When I first saw it I thought it was going to be Wii U 2, but damn, it's truly something else. It's a handheld and console in one, it'll truly be a beast in a few years when it gets a good library of games like the 3DS did by around 2013/4.
You guys think it's worth it to pick up a PS4? I mean, I know the greatest game of all time is on it, but I'm strongly considering picking one up for Monster Hunter World and just plugging my HDMI monitor into it. Which is weird since I haven't bought a console since I was a sophmore in high school.
Also yay mandatory subscriptions so you have to pay twice for online and no/crappy mods. Shit why do I want a console again. EDIT: Nevermind it only runs at 30~40 fps. Not gonna shill out $300~$400 for a system that runs a new title at a worse framerate than my crappy PC. EDIT: Ehhhhh maybe I will. i really like me some monster hunter goddammit

I think I've gotten too used to games holding your hand to get you through it. I'm getting my arse kicked playing Enter the Gungeon. It's so addicting, though. I can't quit playing it.

Don't know how you have that much trust. Hell, I don't even let my family touch it without feeling that they are gonna smash it on the floor.

Lost my Mario Sunshine disc forever ago so I tried to emulate it.
Turns out you really can't do that since modern controllers don't let you lightly hold down R, which is sort of required in Sunshine if you don't want to be locked in place while spraying. :(

The Mayflash 4-port linked is just as good though (just be sure to set it to PC mode). However, do not use the Mayflash 2-port adapter, it has a ton of input delay.

The only time I show it to anyone or let them touch it is in there. As for the smashing on the floor, my younger daughter accidentally knocked it out of my hands and it landed on hardwood flooring and surprisingly, it was fine.

Two days late to the party, but Devil May Cry 2 was released in North America 15 years ago.
