Cat clearly didn't take his or her coffee this morning. Reaction time is extremely slow.

Bunny tries to jump up on a little ledge thing.

When he perks his head up after jumping, all I'm thinking is that he or she is saying "Was it really that high? I don't remember it being that high."

Jesus allmighty, that thing's gonna start spreading diseases.

It started to smell this morning. Remember, I am in TEXAS, and it is hot a hell (only in the 80s now, but still not good for a rotting bird corpse outside my door).

At least you're not in the 70s. Think of the hippies, they'd propably try to eat that bird right now.

Ergh, that's going to start breeding pestilence. Don't you have a municipal number to call ? Dead animal removal or similar ?

That's what I was hoping the apartment people would do the first time I called, except just regular animal removal instead of dead animal removal. But unfortunately that did not happen.

Now, I was hoping that at the very least they could send a maintenance dude with gloves up there to get rid of it, but that also has not happened.

We have animal control but the number is not a well known number. I would not even know how to look it up. As far as dead animal control- I remember when I was young there was a thing where guys would pick up roadkill. I guess it was a government or county or city job of some sort. But for like the past 10 years or so the animals that are hit by cars just sit there and rot. So I doubt I would have any luck looking up something like that.

The closest we have is exterminators, but I doubt they could do anything.

Really, I either should have just risked disease and tried to get the bird out myself, or the apartment should have taking some of the ungodly amount of rent money they make off me and called someone to come get it before it died.

Hippies were 60s. 70s was disco and cocaine.

I've asked around and everyone says to call the office to get the bird. It is now their job to get it down and away from the people before they get sick. They could lose money from this.

Eh, same thing if you ask me.

In any case, at this rate you would propably be better off with hippies actually eating it away from there.

I called them yesterday, they said they were sending one, and did not. If it's still there when I get home from work I will WALK into that office myself and speak with them face to face.

Totally different eras! (I'm super into generational stuff)
But you're probably right- hippies would be faster than waiting for the office to respond.

Apparently 96% of animals sent to PETA are euthanized.
http://www.petersenshunting.com/2013/04/...campaigns/

This is not news to me. PETA on the out side looks like it is kind but they are pretty much the worse people on the planet. They say save the animals from KFC and McDonald's because they kill animals for you to eat, but there is a chart out there that says PETA has killed no less than 3 times more animals than anyone. 3 TIMES. Most people hate PETA because they ruin food. I hate them cause they are evil people. Stupid Evil people because of 1. they release stupid games that mock us gamers. 2. They are Hippocrates for saying treat animals like you would a human. Nice advice there. So what you are saying is that you should kill all homeless people. I should remind every one that PETA stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

RANT OVER. For now.
I need a hamburger and a stiff drink

Welcome to PETA, most everyone in it is a blind fanatic, and therefore make some of the dumbest and most asinine claims and decisions I've ever seen.

Though, it was funny reading that to find out they've got their own porn site.

Wait, what now? I must see this abomination for myself.

Edit: Now that I know it was all a big publicity stunt just to get people to go to their website, it's become even more stupid than if they had just actually launched a porn site.
THE DEAD BIRD IS STILL THERE.

Which means there has been a dead bird outside of my apartment for a minimum of 24 hours.

I'm going to the office right now. I'll report back when i'm done.

DO IT!
That is a health risk. Pretty sure they could be sued if they don't do any thing.

I was told that they did text (really?!) the maintenance guys. I was also told that if they have a broken this or leaky that, they can't just "drop everything to get a dead bird". I was also told, once again, that this "happens all the time". (You would think they would have something in place by now for this sort of thing.)

I wouldn't say she was rude, I would just say that she has heard this complaint a million times. But, again, you think whoever manages/owns it would have an animal catcher of some sort on speed dial or something. Or a bird handling class for their maintenance crew.

So she texted (again, really?!) them again, right in front of me. Then, the guy in the next office said "Why are you sending me a text about the dead bird?" and she said "Whoops!"

The bird has fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally been removed.
So now that that crisis is over with, does anybody else not get this whole tumblr thing? Like what's the deal? Is it just twitter without the text limit?

Tumblr is way fun. Pretty much you just "reblog" awesome shit from other people. You can even post your own creations if you so choose. Lots of funny stuff on there! Then there's that other side of tumblr we don't talk about. It took me a while to understand it, but I love it now.
Things in the news just keep exploding this week.
