You know, this leads to a good question.
How many people here have actually recorded gameplay before and put on youtube? I personally do have the equipment to and have done it before, but I am starting to get the feeling I am in the minority here. If you DON'T and want to get in on this, there are quite a few good FREE programs one can use to record PC gameplay. Two coming to mind are Open Broadcast System and Audacity (which I do believe Combat Lobster has already mentioned). Download those now and read the links he posted if you're all serious about this. NOW.

Just skimming the list of folks, I can say I've seen some kind of recorded content from almost each of them; so you're really are not in the minority here.
Also if anyone is willing to take a few extra steps I would recommend trying VirtualDub for recording their footage, which IMO is way better than OBS when it comes to Non-3d games. (Also you might want to use this lossless codec as opposed to recording in uncompressed)

I've only ever used Fraps and a spare internal HDD for shorter videos. Should probably look into seeing if there are capture cards for the PC though.

My Dazzle came with a program called Pinnacle Studio. I'm good for recording things on consoles, but not handhelds (which I don't think is going to be a problem). I also need to fiddle with it to figure out how to adjust volume.

For the love of all that is holy, do NOT record with a camera. That's the one thing not to do when making LPs.

Camera LPs really should not be used to record footage of a game. There is a reason that you don't see many famous people use them. It looks bad, sounds bad sometimes, and does not get the whole game due to glares, scan lines, and other factors.

So, should we start it off with a group thing? That way, we could have multiple points of footage, if anyone wants to edit.
I made a test video and am putting it on dropbox at the moment. There's definitely some audio problems, I think its partly my mic, but near the end it kind of gets that delayed audio effect, and I do not know why.
edit: It apparently takes 3 hours to transfer almost a gig.

Alright, this is obviously flawed and I'm not proud of the audio but that's why I'm showing it, for suggestions.

Hey sorry for being late in this thread(been away for the last 3 or so days(and still busy)). Like the ideas coming out so far (just read through the thread)
1) Still need to consider timezones and days
2) I agree with no being associated with VGFacts for possible misrepresentation of the VGFacts site
3) I'm confident in editing videos and using my capture device for consoles.
Software people may be interesting in.

What is that if I might ask?
Reviewing the film, for some reason, my voice isn't in it anymore. It was there before I imported it.
