That is the one thing I hated about any RPG, especially some Japanese ones that take 2 hours to explain part of the story, the mechanics and just give you a little heads up on what is going on but you never have a clue till 2-3 hours in. Hell FF13 took 25 hrs of game play before you really got an idea of what the main goal of the game was. That was when you were in the area that you could free roam and not be confined to a single area.

Oh... Oh god. I meant to play P4 Arena for like a half hour and now it's almost Midnight and I have to be up at 5 AM. WHAT HAVE I DONE.
What's not fair is that I just unlocked Elizabeth. I love her so much and want to see her story... I wonder what time I'll get home tomorrow; maybe I can still play a little bit then.

Finally beat all the stories for Persona 4: Arena. Feels pretty lacking, actually. Just a setup for things to come in the sequel.
I'm not sure if it's true or not, but a MegaTen wiki mentioned that Adachi actually gets out of jail for good behavior; he doesn't bust out. Yeah I know it would be super hard to pin anything on him due to the fact he manipulated Namatame into things using otherworldly mean, but you'd think Dojima would do all he could to keep him behind bars. I don't believe it at the moment.

Yeah I agree with what you said about the Persona 4: Arena stories. I actually stopped midway and only got half of the characters stories completed because it felt like the same thing for all them it just eventually got boring and too predictable.
In terms of the Adachi situation it's probably gonna be explained in Persona 4: Ultimax but I'm with ya on it not being believable. Why the hell would they let him out of prison if he was sentenced to the murder of two people? At first I thought it was because of the amount of evidence Namatame had on him making people believe he was the real murder but then I remembered at the end of Persona 4 Golden in the epilogue Namatame was released. I'm thinking Adachi had some method of escaping or simply had connections.

So, I've been playing a lot more P4:G recently which I why I wanted to bump the thread a bit, while I never had a grudge against the game I actually hated how long the cut scenes can be. I started playing it around a year ago but I never got far. I think I beat Chie's persona and was going to save Yukiko and sort of just gave up there. I picked it up again around June and I've been playing it since.
I just found the "killer" and had that omelet contest with Nanako and the rest of Mystery Inc, about 36 hours in or so right now.
It's not a bad game, and I do like how it's all stereotypical Japanese slice of life anime stuff, but the only thing I hate about the game is how if Yu dies, THE GAME IS FUCKING OVER. I get it's meant to be "you dying" but it's just annoying how someone else just can't revive me. I guess the game would be super easy then, but fuck me. I never expect the criticals that do 400 damage to Yu and then he dies.
As for the characters, I don't mind them. Kanji is surprising a good character, I thought he'd be the hot headed one that I'd hate, but actually turned out to be really good character who's probably the most interesting of the bunch just from how he acts. Yosuke is a cool guy as well, I know someone very much like him in real life and always put the two together so I enjoy his company more. I like Chie and her tomboyish attitude, but holy shit she's actually a bitch for using Yosuke's money to buy Teddie's clothes. Yukiko is kinda plain to be honest, I get she's meant to be the "Japanese beauty" and all that, but she just seems really plain in the game. As for Rise, just rescued her and she's having lewd thoughts about everything so I can't really say anything about her character. I don't mind Teddie, he's a lovable idiot. Haven't met anyone else yet, I know that Police Detective is going to join our group, but that's it.
I hear P4 is like Halo 4 in which "It's a good X game, but not a good Y game" so I assume playing P1, 2 and 3 won't be the same as this game. Since I really like how this game feels and plays.

Fair enough. You can see my progress on page 3 earlier in April this year. It's one of those "feel good" games that I still wanna play through again. Persona 4: Golden Anime just started too.
Watch out for spoilers in this thread too.

It's a Japanese thing. From what I remember from what someone else told me, watermelon is meant to be a special occasion item because it's expensive (or something like that). Think of it like a Thanksgiving/Christmas turkey.
Also, I wish I had friends like that too.
