Youtube but not the videos
#1
Discuss Youtube, or die! Well, I guess you don't necessarily have to die, in fact it would be preferred that you didn't but I digress.
So, does anyone know how to reply to comments after this most recent update?

It looks like it can only be done to google+ accounts.

Thanks alot Youtube, your new comment system messed up MagicActions and now there's a white blob on the screen. :I

Oh my god. The only good decision youtube ever made was allowing the length of videos to be extended. Every single new thing they do is awful and needs to stop. For a second I thought I'd lost everything on my account due to trying to mess with the Google+ BS.

They are literally forcing people to upgrade to Google+ by disabling your commenting ability and not being able to see your inbox. Something needs to happen.

I've decided it's not worth trouble; I just won't comment anymore. It'll be nice since sometimes people see your comments and reply with the weirdest things, as I'm sure you've all seen from experience, so it'll save me from that.

One word everyone: Vimeo. Vimeo is the future.
Just kidding, I don't know. But, most skating edits have quit appearing on youtube and are all vimeo exclusive.

Yup, it aint worth all the trouble just so I can post useless comments and see replys to my useless comments.

Seriously, they are using their google+ pages to advertise in the comment section already.

Hmm, maybe there can be some good that can come from this if your comments are tied to your Google+ account. Meaning folks can't make really offensive comments without it being on full display to everyone they know in real life. (Though this is wishful thinking and more than likely isn't the case.)

No, Vimeo excludes certain types of videos from their service, i.e. anything video game related that's not from a company.

God dammit Youtube, nobody likes Google +. Nobody even likes Facebook that much, they just use it because everyone else is. Stop trying to cram it down our throats and just let us Youtube with our youtubes. Beyond the Google+ note, now comment thumbs are blue and if you accidentally mouse over someone's name in a reply comment, an ugly blob of HTML pops up on your screen.

Also, what ever happened to Paid Subscriptions? Weren't they going to force users to pay to subscribe to certain channels?

You mean these? http://www.youtube.com/channels/paid_channels

They're pretty much hidden deep under the surface of Vlogger channels.

I'm kind of confused, since I already have a "very dusty, unused Google+ account", it looks normal and seems to actually be easier to sort?

edit: although checking what a comment is in reply to sucks hard, as it's opening a new tab every time I click "in reply to".

The system is apparently geared towards bugging your family members to look at youtube videos. Now I wonder how much of YT's userbase is actually going to use this the way it was intended: (Also now you can directly link someone to specific comments through Google+. Like this!)

Because my family would care about me watching Japanese Lesbian Make Out Sessions on YouTube right?
Facebook, Twitter, social network in general/being connected are ALL crap and useless because no-one has anything super important to say.

I'm enjoying not being able to check my inbox, losing my avatar and the comments looking like this.

If that is true than I have some bad news for Youtube and Google+. There is a little box on the comments that you can click to NOT post on Google+, Non of my family members (aside from my brother) watch the Let's plays/reviews/gaming things that I do, and I have nobody on my Google+ account due to I only have it because Youtube gave it to me.

Also, I really hate having to look for the holy grail, the Arc of the Covanet, and King Ramses Tomb just to see my inbox. Did you know I have one picture on my Google+ acount? Want to know what it is? It's my avatar becuse uploading a picture to youtube is so easy they needed to fuck that up.
