Public Nuzlocke thread

So I started my Emerald Nuzlocke while the PC is serving community service, here's a snippet.

I get to the first gym with my horrible team of a low-level Mudkip, which I didn't train because I try to avoid using Starters at all costs, a level 13 Abra named Zuzu with ONLY TELEPORT because I hate myself, Po the Beutifly, who is far and away the hardest hitter on the team but nearly useless against a rock-type gym leader, Massdistraction the level 6 Slakoth who is worthless for obvious reasons, Echooooooo the Whismur who does whismur things, and finally Dots the Seedot who I traded my Ralts for in-game because I'm a smart person.

With this crack team of idiots, I prepare to take on the gym leader. I manage to easily take out both of her Geodudes with Mudkip's puny water gun, and now Nosepass enters stage right.

I switch into Massdistraction and fodder him off, because, seriously, f*ck that guy, he's useless unless I can get off a Yawn, which evidently I can not. He's one shotted and no tears were shed. Next I switch in Po, the legend the wonder to pretty butterfly, and go for a stun spore to help out the rest of my team. I decide to try and absorb his soul next, which does minimal damage, and Po is swiftly brought down by a quad-effective Rock Tomb. Now steeped in a puddle of butterfly tears, I send in Mudkip to do what little damage he can, while the long-nosed demon missed 3 consecutive Rock Tombs. Seizing my chance, I whittle the bastard into the yellow, one shot away from sending him back to hell, when this cheeky motherfucker decided to use a super potion.

At this point, all is lost if he lands even a single Rock Tomb, which has enough power to instantly murderlize my mudkip. I have to bend down and ask Arceus for a miracle here, annnnnnnd I don't get it, Mudkip joins Massdistraction in the useless section of hell while I'm still stuck in this stupid gym. Just to recap, at this point I'm facing a level 15 Nosepass at 3/4 health with a level 10 Whismur, an Abra with no moves, and a level 9 seedot with nothing but Bide. I'm screwed.
For some reason, I decide against switching the game off and crying in the corner, instead opting to watch this stupid Seedot (named Dots) writhe in agony. I send him in and, what else, go for a bide. Now Nosepass gets paralyzed for two turns while I store energy, why not? I try for a bide again, and one Rock Tomb brings little dots down to 6 HP. Not looking good, accepting his fate, Dots looks me in the eye and sheds one last tear for his fallen brothers. In that moment, the Poke'gods took pity on Dots, endowing him with the strength to pull this fight out of his ass. The relentless Nosepass hurts another boulder at the little man, and somehow, some way, it misses and breaks another trainer's leg.
Taking this chance to retaliate, Dots focuses all of his rage, all of the pain and suffering this fucking little scrub of a nosepicker has put he and his trainer through, and unleashes his Bide in a firestorm of vengeance and redemption.

So, I'm starting a Nuzlocke of Pokemon White Version 2. My name is TheFonz, my rival is SirWimp and my starter is a Tepig named p0RkERz. Wish me luck in Unova!
Edit: Oh, and I got my first catch on route 19: a level three Patrat that I named Chip'NDale becuase his look reminded of Chip and Dale:Rescue Rangers!

So, how is my Nuzlocke going? Well, to start, I've never actually played White 2 before starting this Nuzlocke yesterday, so I have no idea when my rival will pop out, what are the strengths/weaknesses of each gym leader, etc. I'm flying blind.

However, on that note, I refused to enter the first Gym until all four of my Pokemon had reached level 14 which meant I dispatched the first gym fairly easily; but I'm not sure the hours grinding was worth it. My team not only now has p0RKerZ and ChiN'Dale, but a Sunkern named The Skull and a Lillipup named Fuzz Head. Never having played White/Black or White II, I have no idea about these pokemon and are giving them nicknames based on my initial thought as to their appearence. Sunkern totally looks like a happy little skull with a leaf in his head, and Lillipup is very fuzzy. I was slightly annoyed by getting Fuzz Head and the ranch, however; the second Pokemon to show itself was a Psyduck. I love Psyduck. Not only that, IT WAS A SHINY PSYDUCK!!! That is legitimately the first time I have ever seen a shiny. I thought long and hard about giving up the Nuzlocke challenge, but I persevered. Somewhere, there is a blue Psyduck awaking from his fainting spell asking "Why on earth did that Sunkern just absorb the tar out of me?" Onwards to gym two, I guess. Maybe I shouldn't grind so much now.

God damn this all to hell! I didn't know False Swipe was this picky a move! I trained my Pidgeot to level 56 in order to make him my Pokémon catcher but noooooooo, he doesn't learn it. Nor does anyone else on my team. Frustrated, I go and check Bulbapedia (yes I used outside help, shut up) which pokemans learn this move and whaddya know, literally the only Pokémon I ever had who would've learned it was my Parasect. Who is dead now.

Well... I've got to my fifth area now, which means I got my fifth pokemon...
Which is ANOTHER Patrat. I know that happens in Nuzlockes, but it sucks to have two of the same Pokemon. My first Patrat, ChipN'Dale, has been my least favorite of my pokemon yet. And now I have a second named Red Eye.

This is going fantastic.

Y'all stories of braveness and courageousness has inspired me to retake the Nuzlocke challenge but this time on my Platinum version

Currently in Oreburgh City with Lv.11 Morty(Chimchar) Lv.11 Iris(Shinx) and Lv.11 Ollie(Starly) where I'm gonna grind the pug out of them. I have also captured 2 Bidoof and 2 geodude but not intent on using them.

I want to start a Nuzlocke in Pokemon Sapphire, but that would require me to delete my Youngster Joey challenge file.

Doing it.

My level 89 Zigzagoon will be missed.

RIP in peace Rigby.

Got 2 badges.
Lost a Cascoon.
Current team:
Wingull (Wingull) - Level 19

While hunting for new Pokemon, I came across a shiny Zigzagoon.
I can break the "Can't have the same Pokemon clause" for shinies, right?
Well anyway, Shiny Rigby going in the PC.

5 badges. Everything was going well. Was going through the Fortree City Gym.
I thought "What would be so bad?"
Level 34 Altaria. 1/2 damage against Fire and Fighting.
My team was severely underleveled.
No one made it out alive.

Good thing I caught enough Pokemon to make new team.
My new team is as follows:
Trapinch (Tripper) - Level 20
Zubat (Zubat) - Level 16
Slugma (Katcha) - Level 15
Oddish (Ghostface) - Level 27
Lotad (Ludiloco) - Level 15
Zigzagoon (Rigby) - Level 17
Needless to say, some grinding is in order.
EDIT: The game won't let me release my Pelipper. It keeps coming back. I guess all I can do is just stuff it in a box.

Pokémon came back in Ruby/Sapphire? I've only ever had this problem with my Goldeen in my SoulSilver nuzlocke. Then again, I never tried releasing a thing in Ruby.

In Eterna Forest, I encountered and captured a Shiny Buneary.Obviously not intent on using it til Nuzlocke run is over.

Guys, we should start a Shiny During Nuzlocke Club.
